I would recommend everyone to check that the ADV feed hoses end is properly crimped!!! There has been at least two issues here in Finland, were the feed hoses ADVs side was not crimped at all. That caused the hose to break loose from the fitting. this in turn leads to really fast dliuent loss and water entry to the manifold and 1st stage. One incident happened during predive checks on the surface - no harm done. The other that I know of happened underwater - bail-out and no harm done. AP has been notified about these issues. I think that the both units affected were bought in April 2008. JH Finland Last edited by jhaaja : 7th August 2008 at 12:49.

Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! Thanks Jani for your post! My unit (one out of the two that blew a hose) was purcased on 14.3.2008. I belive the other about a week before. So both units with manufacturing flaw on ADV hoses purchased during first half of March 2008.

Clearly no attempt made to crimp that hose at all... surprising mistake by AP, I'm sure they'll very rapidly make good thoughOne picture tells more than thousand words: http://www.regulaattori.com/images/hose_003.jpg // Stefu No offense but surprised this wasn't noticed during training, isn't the first stage to strip and rebuild the whole unit? (Just an assumption based on them being new units so guess they where for courses...)

Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! (Just an assumption based on them being new units so guess they where for courses...) Nope, just a crazy thought to upgrade from Classic... I find this to be the kind of thing one has to be specifically checking for to notice. I'm sure a very experienced CCR diver could've picked it up. But people like me with a couple of years experince can take the unit apart and reassemble it without noticing. Little crimps missing from one end of a hose. Everything fits nicely and all tests hold extremely well - good to go. That's why the post. Every other hose hose is ok. And APD has been very active in correcting this.

| Dude Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! Wow So AP isnt contacting their customers who might be affected? They've obviously known about this very dangerous issue for at least few days now. Bought mine new in April this year I have just checked mine and its not been crimped at the ADV end. Will contact AP first thing Monday morning. Why wasnt this picked up in the factory during QA. Users are presumably expected to read this crimping information on the Internet and then contact AP. What happened to mandatory safety recalls? Have AP ever issued one... Personally I'm astonished at AP here. Would never buy one of their products due to the apparent cavalier attitude towards users safety.

Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! Donīt have a picture but you can see it easily. If it is not crimped the hose ferrule is just smooth and round. And if it is not crimped you can pull the hose off from the end with a little tug. Crimped one has several "corners" on it. JH
