| Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! Have you been to the factory? Have you dived with the staff and MD? How much AP kit have you had? We are talking about the hose issue here nothing else and as far as we know this is isolated to a few hoses. If every unit leaving the factory had this problem then it would be a much bigger problem. Given that the units were sold in April and they've only just fail in August after 4 months that's not bad for a hose that isn't finished. PS nobody has been proven to have died as a direct result of battery bounce. (to my knowledge) isolated to a few hoses could have been isolated to a few lives. i bought my unit in April 2007 and luckily i stumbled upon this thread when it was posted and was able to make sure my hoses are fine. furthermore, ap has responded way too late in my opinion with me having received the circular only today while this thread has been on for quite a while now. as for the batteries, there were incidents where the units were found to be switched off. unfortunately their respective divers are not amongst us anymore to confirm that they switched off their units or jumped in without switching them on...................................... |

| Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! isolated to a few hoses could have been isolated to a few lives. I think that's a little melodramatic. If the ADV hose comes off, I suspect most people would notice the bubbles. I suspect they may even be bright enough to shut down their dil valve and stop said bubbles. At no time does this compromise what they're breathing in the loop. It's a free-flow.i bought my unit in April 2007 and luckily i stumbled upon this thread when it was posted and was able to make sure my hoses are fine. furthermore, ap has responded way too late in my opinion with me having received the circular only today while this thread has been on for quite a while now. as for the batteries, there were incidents where the units were found to be switched off. unfortunately their respective divers are not amongst us anymore to confirm that they switched off their units or jumped in without switching them on...................................... By the way, the manual switch on the Classic is fairly obvious. It's on, or it's off. If the old-style box is in use, and if battery bounce affects both handsets at the same time, and if the user doesn't notice this and dies, then the unit will be found with the switches in the On position. Any theory that the user notices both handsets are dead, turns them both off at the same time to "reboot", then dies before switching one or both back on is frankly ludicrous. I received my email from Nicky a few days after the thread. I guess she's banging them off manually and I guess this may take her a little while. Meanwhile, you seem to have got the message from Rebreather World and presumably The List. Glad you're safe.

That is true that it is just a free flow, but I would say that you can not close the dil valve fast enough to save any gas... It blows the tank empty in seconds.Anyway your loop is not compromised but your underwear might be And you will also get water into your dil side on the manifold and also the 1st stage.JH |

| Re: Check your ADV feed hoses!!! I purchased my unit in April 2008. The time between reading this threat and receiving a notification took AP more than 12 days. I checked my hoses immediately with being happy that everything looks like it should. Quite scary to think of anyone going diving and not knowing that one of his hoses might be affected... I just hope this will not lead to any accidents.
