That would depend on the type of tank and valve used. There is open space inside the frame above the lid for routing the hoses, etc. So it might be possible to have adequate room for the regs. But it was not designed as such. Of course if you use 90-deg tank valves instead of the standard APV 180-deg tank valves, then the regs could be outside of the frame. I don't have any frame here to test it out for you. Sorry...

| Re: Travel frame for Inspiration and Evolution With all dues to Phi, the travel box is similar in design (but of course lighter than) the DT box. If the design were to follow similar dimensions a set of ali 7's works with the flat base seated on the ground and valves seat just behind your head. Disadvantage is you look like a B52. For smaller tanks they would need to ride high. Cheap excuse to show my face but this might help. ![]() |

Who do you think is our Chief Designer and Crash Test Dummy ? Quote: Disadvantage is you look like a B52. Also... Your picture looks like the regs are actually on the "outside" instead of "inside" (between valve and diver) like twinset ?If correct, the hoses are exposed to contact when diving in tight environment. As well as the regs... ![]()

Home tanks use APD valves so 1st stage point in and hoses go straight down (less one regulator hoses that goes over the shoulder). If correct, the hoses are exposed to contact when diving in tight environment. Got you!As most people already knew that I am a fan of upright tanks anyway. So I will experiment with different tanks when my frames are done.

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | I think its a great idea Phi. I just got back from Florida, and Delta Airlines have imposed a 23Kg limit per item of checked luggage. My regular Inspo, backplate, empty scrubber and one 3L came to over that - but a $25 bribe each way per item lets you carry more up to 32kg. I assume it was a bribe because the lady winked at me ;-) In all seriousness, I can't see that I'll be able to travel in the future without a lighter box as volumes and weights are decreasing across the travel industry in order to become more price competitive and use less fuel. I would like to see the frame protected all round, even using thin PVC sheet to prevent the usual grit and wreck/cave mess from getting anywhere near the hose seals/head. Tin foil might work, but i'd look like a space man Take care Phi, SteveW

| Re: Travel frame for Inspiration and Evolution Here is a frame just off the production line. It will be tested by our Chief Crash Test Dummy for fit, ergonamic and functionality in the next few days. If all go well, we should be ready to crank out the remaining units and ship them by the end of the month. Just a quick head-up... I will be posting the offer to the Inspiration List very soon, so if you are still sitting on the fence, the unclaimed frames might be gone soon... ![]()
