| I’ve looked hard at the Travel Frame and there is 2 things about its design that unfortunately stop me having one. 1. On my YBOD there is space to fit my argon on one side (screwed on Metalsub clamp) and my Salvo torch battery on the other side. I’ve noticed the cylinders on the Travel frame are pushed forward toward the diver more than the YBOD thus leaving less room to fit my argon and battery. I suppose they could go the other side of the cylinders but then they would be hard to reach. 2. I use the existing harness without a back plate relying on the YBOD for comfort. On the Travel frame you would have a metal bar in the middle of your back. So I think you need a back plate with this frame. This adds to the weight when traveling. I want one but these 2 things stop me |

Nah, well I say that I've not used one but I can't see that you would and the two I've seen in action both had standard harnesses on.

I believe the standard harness will fit to the frame.1. On my YBOD there is space to fit my argon on one side (screwed on Metalsub clamp) and my Salvo torch battery on the other side. I suppose they could go the other side of the cylinders but then they would be hard to reach. You could use g-snaps to attach your suit inflation and light. They would tuck nicely out of the way too. 2. I use the existing harness without a back plate relying on the YBOD for comfort. You can mount the cyls further back. There are two positions where they can fit if you need them too. It is possible to mount the cylinder on the top aswell. Otherwise a little more imagination would be required.1. On my YBOD there is space to fit my argon on one side (screwed on Metalsub clamp) and my Salvo torch battery on the other side. Of course, it doesn't mean that people don't travel to coldwater destinations as well. We just didn't take that into the equation. We should start the Drysuit Frame project in May when a new manufacturing machine arrives. It should be able to take at least 4 tanks, etc. but definitely will be heavier. Also, if the demand is high enough to warrant a design modification to the Travel-Frame to include Argon mount, we could take care of that as well. Just simple demand and supply... ![]()

| Re: Travel frame for Inspiration and Evolution the idea is to keep the profile as small as poss, keeping the cylinders close to your back makes for very good trim and very low drag. it is possible to fit and reach either a suit cylinder, a torch battery or both behind the cylinders. The standard harness on the centre spine will work fine, it may be worth using a couple of the portland oceaneering "nuts" instead of wing nuts to spread the load a little but I have dived my frame with just a transpac and it works fine Dave |
