Non standard wing?

Hi,

Do any of you guys use a wing other than those supplied with the unit? If so how do you secure the counter lungs?
I have the Evolution and I'm toying with the idea of using my Audax Pro wing and a back plate, but idon't know how to secure the top of the counter lungs.
I've been using the wing for OC and I like it, I also know where everything is on it
I'm new to the silent world so if I'm considering a not so cleaver option then please tell me.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Jacko.

I use a Halcyon backplate and wing on my Evolution. I purchased the mounting hardware from https://www.deepseasupply.com/index....ory=rebreather for mounting the wing and backplate. And I use the counterlung tie downs from the same supplier, same web page. For the straps I just used the supplied strap with the rebreather. All works fine and is the best move I made. In a 3 mm, I dive with no weight, and in a drysuit I use 16 pounds. Trim will take a bit of trail by error. I use 10 low (waist) 6 on the top of the shell. Mounting the weight on the top is an issue, I wish the Evo had the same pouch as the Inspo. For bailout I use a stage bottle, the buddy air is safe on my workbench where all buddy airs should be.

I use an OMS 45lb wing with a stainless steel backplate on my Evolution. I got the same mounting hardware from deep sea supply. It works like a champ for me. My one issue is that I'm somewhat overweighted when I dive with a 5mm wetsuit. I'm toying with the idea of using an aluminum plate instead.

Cheers.

Re: Non standard wing?

I am using a Halcyon Evolve 40 wing and Halcyon ally BP. Mounting hardware from Deepsea Supply. I just fit the CL as you would normally on the mounting studs/bolts and i use valcro straps to secure the CL to harness webbing and the Deepsea supplies hardware again for the bottom of CL.

As for trim weights i hav placed 1kg in top of either side of the CL, i made a small slit at the top of the material so i could slide a 1kg block of lead on either side and then i have another 1kg mounted up top inside the case. This is not to be confused by inserting the weight inside the CL bag itself, this should be avoided.

I have removed the original harness and replaced it with a low profile backplate:

http://www.golemgear.com/p-243-golem...ackplate.aspxI

have added the armadillo sidemount:

http://www.golemgear.com/p-220-armad...system.aspxAnd

using hardware similiar to these, but sized and purchased from a local harware store:

http://www.golemgear.com/p-225-backplate-screw.aspxI

have attached the Dive Rite Dual Rek Wing but reversed so that the inflator hose is off to the side:

SCUBA Diving Equipment for Technical, Wreck and Cave Diving: Dive Rite, Inc - Product Catalog - Wings

the Dive Rite Transplate Harness:

SCUBA Diving Equipment for Technical, Wreck and Cave Diving: Dive Rite, Inc - Product Catalog - Backplates & Harnesses

have the original confirguration of the counter lungs without any modifications and simply weave the counter lungs through the harness and sandwich between the backplate and the wing and using hardware attach to the yellow Box. Please Pm your email if you would like pics.

I have also added these undercounter D-rings to the harness:

https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php?product=31

As well as these for counter lungs attachment point using the original straps to hold the Counter Lungs in place:

https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php?product=33

Hope this helps.
