New Solenoid Hi, I'll have to send my Lid back to the factory for service and i was wondering if the new solenoid is better than the old one (powerconsumption and supporting higher intermediate pressure). Does anyone have experience with it? Cheers

Re: New Solenoid Hi,Have the new solenoid and it certainly uses a lot less battery power - 10 dives now and still on 3 bars on the battery.Cant comment on the IP tolerance - mine is still set at the recommended value.Steve

Re: New Solenoid my limited experience with the new solenoid so far tells me it uses considerably less power ;-). Fitted at home by a good friend who was good with asoldering iron, instructions are good, but based on fud/free fitting offer fro ap valves, hindsight says send it to the factory for fitting by preference. The new solenoid (MAY) be more IP tolerant, but why ake a risk by upping the IP? A lesson I learnt a few weeks ago was to incorporate an IP check into my unit assembly routine. Had'nt done this before, and BOTh the diluent and OXYGEN IP's were too high. Had been having problems with the batteries being used quickly - lead me first to replace batteries, then get new solenoid. Also lead to a couple of higher than cmfortable PO2's due to solenoid staying open a little too long. Worth checking IP, staying and correct settings IMHO.

Re: New Solenoid Thanks for the replies. I think I'll get one. Wasn't planning on upping the IP just heard it would support higher IP so it wouldn't be aproblem if it creeps up. Hi Roger, good simon has a spare head that I can use. I'm staying in PG till october then I go back to Bohol. You'll be back sometime? Have fun in sweden. Cheers Felix
