| SPG Replacement Hi Guys and Gal's, sorry if this has been covered before but has anyone replaced the rubbish SPG's that come as standard with the Classic Inspiration. (you know the little plastic things...not the chunky ones that first appeared years ago) Mine are now leaking and slow to respond so it's time to replace them however I fancy something a little more robust. Any ideas, ....and did you have to replace the whole hose at the same time. Percy |

| Re: SPG Replacement Hi, There are several SPGs to chose from, look toward the 2" diameter thin profile brass and glass. Regarding HP hoses, the Poseidon kevlar hoses are nice and thin, easy to run and less bulky overall. They are available in two lengths, standard and short.

| Re: SPG Replacement that's interesting - I have ALSO a small leak at the swaged fitting. It's a "thro away hose". DAM! To be fair tho'... the hose does a sterling effort to hold 200+ BAR, unlike the Low Pressure inflators etc! The swaged fitting allows the nut to be titghtened, leaving the hose free to spin - avoiding a twisted hose. I would prefer to have and APD kind of connector, although somewhat more difficult, remove that weakness. The small guages (Cressi Brand) suit MY needs, as they are nice & SMALL! The guage itself is great quality, robust and accurate. Perhaps you might have a particular issue with the guages or something particular to your needs... Ther are a variety of products on the market to suit any requirement, check out the options... but be aware OEM's mostly REBADGE gear, so it might be prudent to have a good look at the gear first! I notice Diverite use Cressi Guages, as do many others.

| Re: SPG Replacement Can't you just replace the swivel rather than the whole gauge & hose? They're only a couple of quid for a new one.

The one was eventually used as a rattle for my little Angel (and angel untill she turned 2 that is) and the other made its way swiftly into the trash. I replaced them with some small Suunto Gauges and have never looked back. Here is a pic of the ones I have used atb Nick Last edited by scunick : 13th August 2008 at 10:12. |

| Re: SPG Replacement I am also not very happy with the SPG`s from AP and think of replacing them with the following ones from the German company DTUAG. © DTUAG - 2008 Once you are on the webpage, click the link for "Manometer" on the left. I bought two of them for my stages. They are good quality and easy to read underwater.
