Custom Divers / Kent Tooling - Carry Handle I want to fit a stainless ‘lift bar’/‘carrying handle’ to an Inspiration Vision. The unit has the older lift off yellow lid which is secured by the four clips as opposed to the newer hinged lid. I’ve looked at the Kent Tooling version which I would have liked, since I have had nothing but first class service from this company and rate their products as second to none, but it is obvious that with the bar fitted the unit will no longer go into the AP travel crate (black & yellow gear gulper type thing). It might sound petty but it important that when needed the wet unit goes back into the crate to keep the car dry during transport home. The crate does need to close properly if we are to stack everyone else’s kit into the back of the car. I’ve been looking at the Custom Divers product, which appears to sit lower to the unit and looks as if there may be a chance of it fitting into the crate. My question to anyone out there, with experience, is; will the unit fit into the crate with a CD bar fitted? If it doesn’t fit has anyone found an answer to this problem – slightly larger crate for example? Another company’s product?

Re: Custom Divers / Kent Tooling - Carry Handle Thanks all for the advice. I’ve bitten the bullet and just taken delivery of a new crate. It is huge but will allow me to get the unit in with a handle attached as well as getting all my other wet dive kit in at the end of the day, thus keeping the car dry. The original box was such a tight squeeze and the lid hardly closed because of the extra bulk of the BOV. If anyone is interested the box was from a company I found on the net ‘plastor’ at the moment they have ‘over run’ boxes going cheap – well quite a bit cheaper than the normal seventy five quid (plus vat, plus p&p).

Re: Custom Divers / Kent Tooling - Carry Handle I bought the 1B650 listed in their 'lid attached' range. Definately no drain holes. The box is about 4 inches wider and 7 - 8 inches longer than the AP box but is also a good 6 inches taller. Will only fit in an estate car or van I would think. The cheaper 'over runs' are not on the site you need to ring for details.
