| Remember to tighten the manual add buttons! I had a couple of real-life high ppO2:s on todays dive. All went nicely until 15m decostop. I had driven ppO2 of 1,1-1,2 manually during the dive and at 15 meters the manual button stuck to the bottom when I added some O2. Luckily I noticed that the button stuck while pressing it. After that straight out from the loop and picked up my dil-regulator under my chin. Then I decided to unplug the O2 LP-hose from the button. At this time the buzzer started screeming and I had to vent the loop seriously to keep me from starting to accent. A dil flush and back on the loop and everything was fine for a while. At 9m I tried tofigure out if the button is still jammed and desided to plug the LP-hose back. Not a good choice The same thing happened, a lot of O2 into the loop... Then I fingered the button area and asked my buddy to take a look at it. He said that something is missing from the button. On the surface it was clear that the plastic button and the spring were gone. The loop got about 0,5 liters off water in during the rest of the deco. I am sure that I had been told to check periodically that the button is secured properly, but I had forgotten it totally. Now I think I will remember it ![]() JH Finland |

Finland I guess the reason for manual operation was a bail out drill? A-J |

| Re: Remember to tighten the manual add buttons! Yes, I was just training to keep ppO2 manually. The handsets high set-point was set to 1.0. JH Finland |

| Re: Remember to tighten the manual add buttons! Hi. Had the same on a night dive ones. Lost the green button and had a free flow of the O2.Just closed the O2 cylinder and kept a finger on the hole. Was able to keep the O2 pressure on 1.2o bar manual.Kept my torch between my knees when I had to open the cylinder. Aborted the dive after a few min safety stop. While I was climbing the latter the water gusted out of the lung. Now it is part of my predive check to check the inflater buttons. Cheers. | Re: Remember to tighten the manual add buttons! Something else to check is the connection to the ADV if it is fitted (upstream of the flow-stop valve)/ I discovered this was loose on my unit recently and realise it is not easy to get it particulary tight, I hope that it is a lot tighter when the connection is under pressure.
