vision flashing?

anyone know why my vision is flashing on and off a full screen of black
when the handset is turned off?

i have taken the batteries out and left it over night put the batteries back in and it starts flashing again

it has vision v02.01.04 software on it

when i turn it on it works ok and dive ok

i can ring AP tomorrow but has anyone else had this happen?
and what is the fix for it?

that 's what i would do.
phone APD on monday
the times when i have needed to phone them about my unit
they have been very helpfull
i hope you get the problem sorted

i had a chat with AP
taking the batteries out after every dive to stop the flashing until i can get it back to them
diving with it should be on problem until i can get it back to AP

THEN A FREE FIX

Ive been using the new 02.01.04 software since early Jan, done prob in the region of 15-20hrs since then trouble free @ the mo.

Probably just ADA bangin the arse out of his unit

I had the same problem, contacted Nicky, they suggested I send the head back to AP, returned within a week at no charge just the cost of 1 new cell

Now works fine

I had similar problem some time ago.
I had updated to software v2.01.04 whenever it came out but I don't think this screen problem is related to the software version. It seems more of a hardware issue.

I have had 2 years of problem free diving on my Vision elecs since I bought it and I did a check-out dive in a quarry in Feb with no issues.

Then on my first weekend away of the season in March I noticed the screen LCD had all segments on. I removed batteries but when I replaced them the LCD stated flashing on and off - flickering. I checked Rebreather World and found reference to similar problem and the suggested fix was to remove the batteries and short out the battery terminals. I did this but when I replaced the batteries the LCD flickering continued. I then shorted the terminals again but this time left the batteries out for 24 hours. That seemed to fix it.
But after the weekend I rang AP and they said to send it back for a check up.

If you have a similar problem I recommend contacting AP.
