There are little small round magnets on the bottomside of the three white sliding buttons on the front of each controller. They have a tendancy to corrode over time. If your comfortable they can be taken apart and replaced. Once they are apart you can test with a magnet to see if you can turn the handset on. I have not tried it but you might be able to test with a external magnet without taking the buttons apart. Hope that helps. John |

Thanks for the advice I have tried swapping the magnets about and this did not help, so its a trip in the post for it. could be the micro switch, i had this problem twice.Graham It looks like the metal strip wchich closes the micro switch can after a while bedn a bit, and consequntly wont close the switch anymore. What did help me in the past is: a) take the cover off b) switch the micro switch on/off a couple of times c) put the cover back on d) micro switch on and hold it firmly on e) now switch the unit on but ultimately you will have to get your head to AP as far as I know a new micro switch is part of the full service - so it seems that this is a known problem to AP cheers christian

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: HELP please? Concur with the micro-switch diagnosis. They're readily available, I just replaced a pair on a mates classic with compatible switches from Dick Smith Electronics. Thats a kind of poor mans RS Components down under. But since you're UK based, may as well give it back to AP.
