Re: Backplate & Harness

Hello Taza:

I ditched the APD harness on my Evo (now Inspo) right after my Mod1. I use an OMS s/s backplate with a Dive Rite TransPlate harness. I attach the plate to the Inspo using Deep Sea Supply's backplate adapter kit. I also use Deep Sea Supply's Delrin thumb wheels to secure the plate to the rig. I like the OMS plate over others because of it's shallower back indentation. The OMS plate also has more holes along the sides allowing me to mount my Argon bottle lower. The Delrin thumb wheels protect the back of my dry suit from potential tears from the connection posts. The thumb wheels are also easier to remove after diving in near or below freezing water as they don't freeze to the backplate. Not that that has ever been a real issue. I rigged my counter-lungs similar to those on the Meg. So using Dive Rite's TransPlate harness allows me to easily remove the lungs from the rig for easy cleaning and drying.
