| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Dump the Autoair Hi all, I'm am looking to get rid of the standard Autoair that is filled to Inspirations, as it free flows on a regular basis and beyond a certain depth its pretty much useless anyway! So what type of wing inflator do you replace it with and where did you get it? Did you manage to just remove the Auroair bit and leave the rest as is somehow? |

I think it came off the day after my Mod 1 course ![]() I just took mine off the hose, cut the hose a bit shorter and replaced the AutoAir with a Dive Rite inflator I took off an old wing I had lying around and then connected the inflator hose straight into the manifold. Very easy 10 minute job; don't forget you'll need OPV on the dil first stage as well. Hope this helps, Gary

It just makes it a slightly stiffer breathe.(edit) maybe half a turn is a bit far, not quite that much (/edit) This nut: This is an old style but the new one's virtually identical. ![]()

Then a normal inflator hose from the manafold to the inflator. I had to order a shorter inflator hose than normal. Much better trimed rig now.

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Dump the Autoair surely if it is seviced and working correctly it should not leak. They are tested as with the inspo to 150m and wouldn't be supplied with it if they were not reliable, so why change. mine and has never leaked at any depth (and never really been serviced or really looked after much at all) ! just a thought ash |
