surely if it is seviced and working correctly it should not leak. They are tested as with the inspo to 150m and wouldn't be supplied with it if they were not reliable, so why change.

mine and has never leaked at any depth (and never really been serviced or really looked after much at all) !

just a thought

I agree. Mine leaked quite bad until I had the first stage serviced. Now it's fine. Well by fine I mean that it doesn't leak, I still don't care for the "buddy air" much.

I will be changing mine to a normal PI, and then just using a standard second stage for bail out.

Re: Dump the Autoair

Mine leaked continuosly on a brand new out of the box Evolution after dive 2 on MOD 1.......adjusted it myself as Nigel stated....no problems since...but I will still replace it....its just to large and bulky.

Re: Dump the Autoair

Mine leaked on a brand new unit also. It was adjusted almost daily. It would start to slowly leak and just get worse every time. I went to an Oxycheq wing and a standard inflator. Now you must put an overpressure valve on the first stage and carry bailout(which is a given anyway.)
My 2 cents.

Re: Dump the Autoair

I don't know how well they work as I shed mine on the day I qualified
I think they're pig ugly but that's just MHO

Fitted a Halcyon inflator and I had a spare Scubapro R380 2nd stage so that hung below my chin on a necklace holder.

That took care of wing inflation and onboard bailout for early Vision dives.

Once I started diving that much deeper, I removed the onboard bailout as a 3L diluent cylinder doesn't last long (at depth).

The Halcyon inflator hasn't missed a beat in 2.5 years.

Exactly what I did. But I did shorten the inflator hose by about 6-8 inches. I still have the R380 and necklace. It's not in the way so it's still there.

I replaced mine with a standard APD wing/bcd inflator, I had to replace the aoutoair hose (different fitting/bore) with a new hose with the same connectors as are on the diluent inflator hose. Got my LDS to cut some hose to correct length & fitted reusable AP fittings at each end.

Re: Dump the Autoair

Took mine off - Golem BOV and Apeks stage B/Outs do it for me. Anyone want to buy an Auto air?

Re: Dump the Autoair

Initially removed the autoair after completing Mod1 fitted a Golem BOV and an inflator of an Icaro Tech wing I had spare.
I also replaced the box with a Decoweenie trave frame.
After Mod 2, I replaced the AP wing with a OMS 60lbs dual bladder wing as I mainly dive in a wet suit.
