| XLVI WC! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Mouth Piece hoses I think its what you feel comfy with ![]() My problem was me being too little and the hoses being too long I cut my hoses down on the advice of my instructor. I was finding that they were far too long and causing a constriction particularly as they bent sharply back on themselves. The profile of my mouth and hoses looked like a huge W ![]()

| Re: Mouth Piece hoses I never thought about how long my mouth piece hoses were until I saw your image. As seen in the attached images, my hoses appear even longer. I am interested (now) in the experiences of others in regard to shortening the mouth piece hoses. If you shortened the hoses: What were the advantages? Disadvantages? And would you shorten them again if you could start over? You can also see that my initial problem was not the length of the mouth piece hoses but the insanely long handset hose and my short arms combined with dry gloves. I have since revised my setup and run the handset like the Inspiration classic. I shorten the hose by looping it on itself once inside the case before running it over my shoulder and clipping it off. | RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Mouth Piece hoses I shortened my hoses a while back. I took 5 rings out of the ADV side, and 4 rings out of the exhale side (this is because the hoses were exactly the same length originally, but the ADV is one ring longer than the normal T-Piece) this had meant that they sit closer to my head, which I prefer. What I do find though is that my head movement it more limited than it was before, but this isn't a problem to be, as I find that I do most of my looking around by spiniing my whole torso. Before: ![]() Now: ![]() My advice if you're gonna shorten them, is to do it little bit at a time, as you can always take more off but you can't put any back on!! Another small point, it's a real pain in the ass getting the fittings apart and back together - even with the "proper" tool....Si |

| Re: Mouth Piece hoses Hi Pierre, Unless you need to, as described by Lou, I would opt not to shorten the hoses, they look just fine as they are and are no different to a lot of peoples. Remember that reducing the length of your hoses also has an effect on the WOB, in fact it makes WOB easier! Not, as I am sure you realise, with the CE approved Inspiration, an issue. Cheers, Dave Cooper.
