We do a cheaper version. It comes as parts only for you to assemble yourself. It has no R&D done on it, no testing and no 'Narked at 90' warranty. You have to go direct to Fischer and get the connector (after you work out their part number system) and order minimum quantities. Unfortunately there is a 6 week lead time on parts if you are a large quantity user. Then you can get the cable from a friend or colleague who has a roll that you can get a metre or so off. You should buy the assembly tool from Fischer, dont forget to pot the connector when your done and test it because otherwise you might complain to yourself if its wrong and you will also have to scrap a £30 plug. The SMB cables and connectors should be easy to find once someone sees our design and then you can plagarise it like others in the dive community will do sooner or later. Obviously you will save on labour because you dont do this for a business and have to pay wages, accountants and corporation tax etc.

i think you need to go away and design some thing then go away and have it built tested then think about marketing buying in stock and don't forget Assembly.
it is very obvious to me that you have no concept of how much this costs to make or you would not be talking out of your arse, if you don't want it then fine make it for your self, then wile your at it make 50 and put your name to it, insure it and we'll all come to you instead, because i for one could do with out all the bullshit that gets talked and I'm sure my health could do with out it also
so please show us what you have come up with that is cheaper for the same specs.

I bought your 4th cell holder and cable. Price for the 4th cell holder: 123 UKP and around 40 UKP for the cable.

Now I see a price for 137 UKP for people that already have the fourth cell holder. So I was just wondering what I was buying for the 137 UKP. Don't you think that is a reasonable question. That is almost a 100 UKP difference for going from 1 to 3 cells.

Cheapest cable we do is £56 without any connectors. Blank Shearwater cable is £62.
Reasonable quaestions are asked in a reasonable fashion, I will come out blazing everytime someone insinuates that we are overcharging for our products.

my high horse comes out once in a wile,and only when i feel my houner is questioned, your question hinted that we are trying to rip people off, which i take great offence to,
the more we work out our systems the more we realise we have under priced many off our items that have gone before
buying a cell holder with cable is cheaper because we let the cable go cheaper because it is in a set so we subsidise the price,
the new set up is by far more work and the components are very very expensive all before we do our work.
the profit in the cable is very small try buying one from some where else or getting some made by fischer and see how far £1000 goes.

I think you read too much in my question.
I just wanted to know:
1. what else besides a cable and some splitters is included. I assumed there was something because of the price difference.
2. what about VAT

Nothing more.

BTW. These questions still haven't been answered.
