![]() ![]() | Camelion Replacement Scrubber I have tried to upload it to the gallery, but it doesn't let me. It's too big I think. The new prototype scrubber replacement system aimed at the Inspiration Classic called the Camelion by Michael Hearn. The video was taken by myself during London Internation Dive Show 2008 last weekend. |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Why did you post each picture three times? Someone's gotta clear up that space and the staff isn't bored ... ![]() I realize they aren't your images, and they look pretty cool but they don't quite serve their purpose if they're supposed to show us something. Least of all the Carmelion replacement scrubber. Flat black product on a black backdrop isn't easy to light properly. And lighting from the top when said scrubber is on the bottom ain't the way to go.That Carmelion thing looks pretty good, certainly very cool, and having seen Michael's excellent craftsmanship I'm looking forward to see the real thing. But may I suggest calling it something other than a replacement scrubber? For one thing, it's much more than that. I consider a Cis can in a Meg or a Micropore can in a Dolphin a replacement scrubber. This is a replacement everything but the front part of the loop and the gas supply. ![]() Second, the one thing not shown or detailed is the scrubber. ![]() The most interesting part, one of hardest parts of a rebreather to design well, and one of the most important part regarding its performance and safety. So what exactly are you replacing the AP scrubber(s) with?

![]() ![]() | Re: Camelion Replacement Scrubber the one thing not shown or detailed is the scrubber. I know, but because it was a prototype, Michael was very reluctant on discussing the details or showing the actual scrubber.![]() The most interesting part, one of hardest parts of a rebreather to design well, and one of the most important part regarding its performance and safety. So what exactly are you replacing the AP scrubber(s) with? I think the concept behind it is that you have the electronics with the sensors separate from the scrubber canister plus it's still a solid one piece unit and flexible in terms of the configuration including tanks, hoses, lungs or even electronics. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Camelion Replacement Scrubber I would not be angry, maybe Michael feels in this cut-throat age of business that he wants to keep his scrubber secret for awhile. Maybe it is proprietary and he wants to safeguard his possible future income against his design being ripped-off, who knows. Give him time to do his testing and I am sure he will reveal all in the long-run. Life is too short to get angry about not seeing a scrubber, there are far more worse things going on in the world today. There are some very talented people working on aspects of Michael's unit, I am sure they will not fail to make something good and innovative. Oh, and by the way, I have nothing to do with this project, apart from waiting to see if something exciting comes of it. Cheers, Dave Cooper.
