Mod 1 Advice Needed Looking at taking Mod 1, IANTD and hopefully later on buy a Fully Loaded Inspiration Vision Rebreather, but my training will be on a Inspiration Classic. Should I take the course or find someone who has Inspiration Vision. Cheers Taza

Re: Mod 1 Advice Needed If it was me I'll find someone else and do it on the vision. The operation of the handset/s are simulair e.g to turn off/on etc but I would still opt for the training on the unit I was going to use. Vision in your case. Bob

Re: Mod 1 Advice Needed I would say the key thing to focus on with MOD 1 is learning rebreather skills vs open circuit. Once you get a rebreather mind-set, it's applicable cross platform allowing you to switch units with much more ease. There is a lot of commonality between Inspiration Classic and Vision anyway. I would agree with comment below on the characteristics of specific units. My Inspiration Classic training covered the Vision as well (using air as diluent) and nowadays there is a huge support network out there (here for example plus Inspiration list plus AP) if you have any minor questions. The AP manuals are a very good source too!! On cross-over's - I've recently done a unit specific crossover to a Meg (from Classic Inspo) and I was diving my unit after a 30 minute run-through of the system from an instructor. Then it was a question of practicing drills & set-up until they were second nature, which do vary unit to unit but all-in-all I must say, the differences were pretty minimal, primarily a question of getting used to a different menu systems and different mechanical set-up. Inspiration Classic. to Inspiration Vision. you dont need a crossover ,, my card has classic/vison on it ,, did most of my mod1 on a classic , plus two dive on a vision

Re: Mod 1 Advice Needed HI, just finished my MOD1, with my buddy he has a classic, I have a vision, not a great deal of difference between the two hand set procedures differ, one thing I did was to turn off all the auto bits. So that during training both units were run manally. Andy

Re: Mod 1 Advice Needed Tazza, much easier to go from a classic to a vision, to go back the other way you have to remember there is no auto setpoint switch! With Classics going for £2k upwards you may find it makes economic sense to dive a classic for a while. HTH Simon A
