If the info on the AP price list is correct then the smaller box is about 1.8Kg lighter.

So you are now talking nearly 6kg lighter than the inso setup with the security of not having to put it in a lightweight hard suitcase.

If you did want to put it in a suitcase then you could probably add another 1.5 - 2kg the the weight saving.

Great idea about cutting the holes in the top for using 3l cylinders, I was wondering about that myself.
