Yes I know but the classic scrubber has a wider diameter if you consider the lid flange. Dont know how much room there is front to back
Having said that I managed to get a classic scrubber i an origional evo case when they first came out. was a bit tight though

As far as I know, AP made several of these a few years ago, which were used on the 2006 Britannic Expedition. The concept makes sense; the scrubber duration of an Inspiration with the reduced cylinder size of the Evolution. The case is smaller than the Inspiration, so it travels better.

Having seen them in action, this is what I wanted when I got my unit last year, but AP wasn't producing them at the time. Now, I am hoping that they also offer a conversion with a case, scrubber cannister base and insert so I can eventually convert my Evo to an Evo+, using my existing head. While I only have a handful of dives on the unit so far, I have maxed out the scrubber duration twice and hadn't used even 1/3 of the gas in the 2-liter bottles.

The trade-off is the cylinder size against travelability.

If I personally was replacing I'd say no. 2L is below the size I'd dive without additional bailout so for no-stop diving, ie: a pootle off the club RIB, I'd suddenly start to have to carry more tanks, which sucks in small boat.

If I was forever jetting off places I might go the other way, provided I thought I could hire the smaller tanks at my destinations.

Are the Inspiration and Evo counterlungs the same? I am assuming the loop hoses are a diffreant length too. Maybe if we are really good they can roll it into a deal with a unit service.
