| I am considering mounting a bailout tank of 40 or 50 cu ft under the bum of my inspiration. I am considering mounting it to the box or even adapting a narked @ 90 stand. This would give me a little more height to get into the harness, and no longer have to fiddle around connecting slings which is prooving difficult in a small boat. At present I have the standard Vision Inspo soft back pack and harness but am also considering fitting a stainless steel back plate which would I assume suit the fitting of a narked @90 basestand. I assume several here have already tried this before. I would like to here a few pro's and con's.

| Re: "Bum" mounted cylinder on Inspiration Do you really want to add weight to the unit? And in this case to the lower part of it as rbs tend to be butt heavy in the first place. I would think that fitting a nice backplate will help with the stages. Stages offer a more versatile system, bigger for deeper stuff and smaller for shallower stuff. It is easiest to fix the stage in the water if possible. JH |

| Re: "Bum" mounted cylinder on Inspiration Hi I agree absolutely with Jhaaja. Is the inspo not heavy enaught? In this moment, i'm diving my unit standard but with a aluminium backplate and i'm trying to made something lighter. Best Mikel

| Re: "Bum" mounted cylinder on Inspiration G'day, The idea of a butt mounted bail-out isn't at all bad but like the other chaps said maybe abit heavy on an Inspo, plus will make the thing bloody long and bulky. A mate of mine is manufacturing a bail-out stage frame for evo's and this does work real well. Check this link for an idea. I'm 6'4" and had no issues with the Vision heightwise. I'm now on an Evo, so that I can share the unit with my much shorter wife. As a result, given that it is shorter and has only 2l cylinders, I've had to think through the same problem. At present I have the standard Vision Inspo soft back pack and harness but am also considering fitting a stainless steel back plate which would I assume suit the fitting of a narked @90 basestand. I assume several here have already tried this before. I would like to here a few pro's and con's. Give Narked@90 a call. He's helping me out with my challenge, so should be able to help you. I'm intending to put a cylinder across the bottom for extra O2, but am waiting to see whether that makes the unit too butt heavy. I've been diving an s/s backplate for the last year. Do it - you'll love it and it might fix some of your kitting up issues without going all the way to creating the tallest rebreather out there ![]() Cheers,
