| YBOD without wing Hi I've been playing with the idea of take off the wing of my inspi. Always diving drysuit and i've medium couterlung. Am i idiot or yes???? I've BMCL in my inspi and 22 litrs wing and i think that is not strimmed enaught... I will try it this weekend (i'm going to have my scooter with me just in case...) ![]() Thanks Mikel

| Re: YBOD without wing If sh*t hits the fan and your scooter + YBOD decide to flood at the same time, will you have enough lift to surface ? Of course, you could always drop your scooter, but will you still have adequate lift to compensate for lost of positive buoyancy of your flooded unit ? IMHO, the wing doesn't create enough drag to compensate for the redundancy purpose (of the wing) if you use your drysuit as the buoyancy device. For me personally, I use the wing as the primary buoyancy device and dive the drysuit fairly tight.

OK this one wasn't quite like that but you get the idea. Ok the incident with the zip was my fault, both of them, and the dump that dismantled itself was probably caused by trying to clamber through too small a hole but seam was an act of god and the mice were definitely enemy action.

| CK+Shearwater Current Rebreather/s: | Re: YBOD without wing Not worth the hassle of trying it IMO, as Phi said using suit and wing together, as a bonus with the two buoyancy devices (suit & Wing) you can add or dump buoyancy much faster in an emergancy, as you have two inflator/two dump valves. I misheard the skipper as I rolled off the boat once, thought he said 47mtrs but it was actually 37! Man did I hit the inflators fast when the bottom appeared out of the 1mtr viz!!!
