| OK I have been having some battery issues lately First I will state that I am using the Energizer and Duracell Ultra batteries. Today I installed fresh Duracell's (replaced both) in my Rebreather approx 10min prior to jumping in the water. I did the calibration and pre breath as normal and entered the water. As I was hooking up my BO bottles I got a low battery alarm on B1 and looked to see that B2 was now primary but both B1 and B2 were showing 1 bar left on the display! I carried out the dive and as per the newest software got a Low Battery B1 alarm every 5 min. I have had this happen over the last 5 dives and at first I thought it was the new software but I am not sure now. I reverted back to 2.01.03 and ran up the system only to see that the bat on B1 was still showing 1 bar?? I checked my O2 first stage pressure and it is at 7.6 Bar. If anyone can help please let me knowRob |

| Re: Need some info! This is probably not of much help, but i figure some feedback is better than none. I am now running lastest software version and have had no issues, but i did not have any issue's on version 2.01.03 either.

Hi, I think some people had the same problem previously but you would want to review some posts. anyway, I'm not really sure whether the new software would solve battery problems. I personally use rechargeables and they worked great so far as I recharge them when I change my sorb and fill O2. Best Regards. Wael

After getting all conections and battery box checked to find no faults I ended up sending it back to APD. The problem was in the wiring loom and sensors being corroded I am now getting it all changed the co-axal vision type. |

I noticed low battery (expected) so rotated B2 --> B1, and placed a new battery in B2. I assembled the unit, ran the diagnostic and all looked good. Whilst doing the pre-dive check on the boat, I got a low battery warning on B2 (the new battery). The dive got cancelled due to weather so there was no need to dive. The batteries were dated, so I couldn’t be confused here. Before my next dive the following week, I remembered I had battery issues and did the battery rotate again as described above. I forgot that the pre-dive issues I had were on B2! I assembled the unit and promptly got low battery on B1. I switched them around and got a heap of confusing results. After all this I deduced I had a dud battery. I tried a fresh one and all was good. My concern was with the info that the vision told me during battery startup seemed flat out wrong for B1 or B2 compartment. The battery voltage test on startup shows that the battery was good, then 2 hours later it turned into a low battery warning. Upon doing the tests this evening, when the dud battery is in B2, its seems to affect the battery rating of B1 on left battery bar only. To clarify: B1: Good New Battery B2: Dud New Battery When I started the unit 2 times, I got various battery test results on the startup test: First: (0 = empty bar; X full bar; I can't recall voltages) 000 B1 XXX 000 B2 0000 Second: Starts the boot sequence, begins the battery test, screen flickers and shuts down. This test clearly highlighted that the dud battery did not have enough power to run the unit. With new batteries, the results is: 5.7V XXX B1 XXX 5.7V 5.6V XXX B2 XXX 5.6V The dud battery in question was in my spares kit, perhaps 2-3 months old. Upon review, I noticed it was different to the working units. I’ve taken photos of the good and bad battery (both Energizers Lithium Photo, the bad is circles in red). Note the label difference and the rounded sides (as opposed to square). I don’t know if this helps, but thought it was worth some documentation. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for that, I don't know if it is related to my problems but I have tried three different types of batteries (Duracell, energizer and Sanyo) all of them seem to give me the same result??? I have asked AP to look into this and I will post the findings.I noticed low battery (expected) so rotated B2 --> B1, and placed a new battery in B2.
