Hi guys and girls,

[color=black]I was after some advice on shortening the loop hose between the T's to the mouth piece. I find the loop hose a little long and i notice i have to bite down and be mindful of the mouth piece so it does not pop out of my mouth. Has this been done and is it ok to do so? I was looking to shorten it by about 4-5cm on both sides.
I shortened the loop on my Evo by about 6 cms each side, removing the weights at the same time. Result has been a better fit, less pull out of the mouth and no problems turning my head from side to side. So I'd recommend it.

Not everyone is built like a leprechaun though Graham!

I thought about shortening the hoses at first but was advised against it. I just moved the weights and tuned the T-pieces out. I also make sure that the T-pieces are actually at the top of the shoulder.

Re: Advice Needed on Shortening Loop Hose

Thanks for all the advice guys. Graham have you left the weights off and if so what has this done?

Cheers

Yes, the weights have stayed off. Because the hoses no longer floated up, they were redundant, so out they went. Haven't missed them. The end result has been a much tidier, compact setup. The only thing I have to watch out for is that the t-pieces are correctly angled to make sure the curve in the hose holds the mouthpiece in place. Finding that angle was a matter of trial and error; once I had it, I marked the connectors so that I can see straightaway whether or not all is as it should be.

Yours in leprechaunery,

Graham

Hi Graham,

Did you notice any change in WOB (I know it's hard to detect, but who knows) or any other change from shortening the loop? I need to set about that for my wife, as the standard loop looks ridiculously long on her.

Cheers,

Many thanks indeed - looks like I'll have to buy some more hoses and cut them to length for her.

Cheers,
