I'm a bit sceptical regarding installing it on my Vision as I fear there might be some unknown bugs which also cause other problems.
If your using v2.1.3, I'd install the new version as it fixes a significant bug in 2.1.3 where C2 doesn't shutdown properly. If you've checked, you may see B2 degrading faster than B1, not good as it's the backup!

I reverted back to 2.1.2b, having tried 2.1.3, I'll stick with this version for now...

Re: Vision V02_01_04 released

Haven't noticed/experienced that with 2.1.3, and I inspect every dive afterwards with the logviewer (better safe than sorry: lots of usefull info there, also e.g. on cell reaction speed).
Just to be sure I'm not talking out of my .ss, I inspected the last 12 dives, and cannot find one where the B2 voltage is lower than B1.
Obviously B2 also drops over time, because it *is* after all powering C2, and at least during startup and setpoint changes both controllers drive the solenoid. But it typically maintains a higher voltage than B1 - as expected & wanted, to act as backup.

The point is that you need(ed) to keep the "shut down all" button(s) pressed for a few seconds; briefly touching it would not be enough. The same applied to starting up, which caused some "deco missed" messages due to the unit not fully initialising.
It might be that a too brief touch is picked up by one controller, but not the other one.
So, if due to this C2 didn't shut down properly, it would still consume power on the surface. However, on next startup the battery info panel would inmediately show you the damage, in the form of showing a lower start voltage for B2 than expected. Still a good time to swap batteries then....

It is not a during-the-dive problem, unless you do not use the info provided beforehand during the startup in the battery display, and as such miss B2 being too low to act in case of C2 needing to take over from C1/B1.

But, as a general precaution (and one that worked o.k. so far for me & rita during the last 4 SW releases): during power on and power off, hold the associated buttons for a few seconds. Simple to do & remember. Never saw a missed deco and/or deteriorated B2.

ciao,

tino.

Re: Vision V02_01_04 released

again did 2 dives today, 35m 48min and 20m 40min.

All worked ok and no problems noticed, for the record i did not use 02.01.03, i ran with all last season on 02.01.02b.

I heard of battery issued with 03, so stuck with 02b. This 04 version seemed to do what it says on the tin. The new battery latch system seemed to do as expected.

Will see how it goes over the winter, if it starts playing silly buggers i will revert back to 02b.

Cheap shot, couldn't resist, too early for a Saturday, not enough coffee yet - I apologize.
No, no, no need to apologize, I got a good chuckle out of it actually.

Re: Vision V02_01_04 released

Dived the new s/w this weekend. 55m 20min BT and 64 min RT. No issues bar the scrambling of the dives in the log.

Thanks

Re: Vision V02_01_04 released

As to the scrambled logged dives: APD answered that one on the Inspiration Mailing list.
Basically, the incorrect order of logged dives will correct itself over time (as it overwrites the oldest dives), but if it annoys you and want to have it sorted before that time, only APD can do that.

You do not have to send in your hardware though: they can do it online for you, remotely. The Communicator software has a "remote support" function that will allow APD to sort it out for you remotely. they "log in" through your Communicator link to your attached Vision and correct the logbook pointers.

Personally I don't think it is worth the hassle, as all dives are in itself logged properly, but due to a bug in a previous SW version some forward/backward pointers are not registered o.k.
It is just that the later SW updates do not correct the problem of already previously stored incorrectly pointered logged dives. New ones are logged o.k. and in sequence, but old ones remain wrongly registered/pointered.

ciao,

Tino.

Re: Vision V02_01_04 released

Hi guys,

Anyone else running the latest software? I have just installed it and will dive it this weekend.

Cheers
