| 4-8 sofnolime in an Inspiration Hi all Sorry if this has already been answered, couldn't find it though. It seems although not advocated by AP, it is possible to use 4-8 mesh sofnolime in the Inspiration. As far as I can gather the implications of doing so are possible slight increase in WOB and more importantly reduction in duration. Are there any other known issues and can anyone quantify the reduction in duration? I think I heard 2 hours instead of 3 hours, but am not sure. I ask as I'm off to Truk and Palau and am told that there will be 812 (that is aka 797 isn't it?) but just in case, I would like to know if I culd use any 4-8 that may be there. Many thanks Graham |

| Re: 4-8 sofnolime in an Inspiration i would just ring AP and ask there advice, i am sure they will tell you if they think its safe to use and if so the duration they would recomend. ATB Gareth

| Re: 4-8 sofnolime in an Inspiration 2 hour duration, higher WOB, more dust.

| Re: 4-8 sofnolime in an Inspiration Why would the WOB be higher? I would think that it should be lower because the scrubber bed is not so "dense". JH |

| Re: 4-8 sofnolime in an Inspiration I'm not sure of the physics behind it but I did notice a higher WOB when I used 4-8 for the first time last week, did 2.5 hours on it and still had a full temp-stick reading. For a shallow/medium depth dive (30-130') I would feel comfortable pushing it to 3 hours. I regularly dive 8-12 for 4-5 hours (mind you I dive in warm water, although it's been hella cold lately, hovering just above 70 deg F.). I prefer 8-12 but got 2 buckets of 4-8 free so I can't complain too much.
