What shall i choose and think of?

Hi this is a big step to go over to the dark side .

But i think this is the future...

I am on my way to buy my first CCR and has lookt on Inspiration

Wath shuld i think on? I don`t like to screw more then necessary. in that case is an Inspiration a good choise?

One of my main cause to by a CCR is the logistic im so tierd of this gasblending and He and money destruction. Hope that this will be a step i the right direktion.

All the best!

Christian

Hi Christian,

I was in the exact same position 1 year ago and chose to buy a newer second hand Inspiration for several reasons.

1. Alot of people dive Inspiration.
2. Easy acces to spares and many great 3. party products.
3. You can get started for a fair amount of money.
4. It is a simple rebreather that is easy to maintain.

This was the right choice for me.
Then why is my Inspo for sale ?
PM if you're interested..

CHeers

Inspiration:

Easy to dive
many 3rd party product´s
easy to get spare parts
many instructors worlwide

I have done a few dive´s without any problems. But i would buy a meg in the near future because i think this ccr is a little bit better than the inspi.

Cheers Markku

I can also agree that there are a lot of Inspirations out there. Also a lot of instructors that can train you with the unit. I might have a Inspiration with Vision electronics for sale, if you happen to be interested.

You might also want to look for a Meg, either COPIS or APECS. I just did my crossover course last weekend. If I would be buying my first unit, I'd perhaps go with the COPIS Meg.

Re: What shall i choose and think of?

The Inspo for sure, for all the reasons above and:

AP are a huge company, unlikely to go under (not trying to say the others are, but a backyard machine is much more likely to disapear than AP) and have the capital and equipment to test new things.
No rebreather is perfect, but the Vision has many features others dont.
There are more Inspos out there than all other 'breathers put together. (or so I have heard. I have no hard evidence, but the way I see it it sounds right! I dont want to start an arguement about this comment, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong)
Simple to customise, with BMCL, backplates, travel frames, 4th cell holders etc. You can buy just about any mod off the shelf.

And cos I own one and love it!

Re: What shall i choose and think of?

Yep I got to agree with JD I got my Evo a few months back and it was the right decesion for me.Its CE approved and has deco software built in. I looked at the Meg and its a well made unit but I live in the UK and AP are UK based thus parts arn't a problem.
I love me unit and would recommend it to anybody.
Have a read though the Forums here there's loads on both units.

Bob
