Re: Co2 monitor.

Well, some German dude says he's gonna introduce one at BOOT 2008 that works and will cost less €1000.

Re: German CO2 monitor.

Well, he send me an e-mail saying so, hope you don't mind I don't post a link to my mailbox.
Am curious what he came up with, would be a major step forward for Rebreather diving.
Boot 2008 will be at the end of January, so we'll know soon enough.
I'll inquire before the show, try to find if he'll be there and where he can be found.

Re: Co2 monitor.

IMSVHO, I wish the time, effort, and energy spent trying to build a CO2 monitor , would instead be spent on half-arsed reliable O2 cells. These are amongst the weak points of all eCCr's. Let's get our priorities straight.

We got radial scrubbers, EAC's, BOV's. These provide adequate CO2 risk mitigation (for now). There's enough things to monitor already (assuming you have a half-arsed set of O2 cells), not to mention the things requiring upkeep and regular service.

There's little mitigation for a set of f****d up cells, that can fail out of the box, 1hr out of the box, or 18 months. It's a little bit like having a girlfriend whose a serial killer. You know her nature but won't do without.
