Re: What batteries

I use Panasonics in my Classic Inspo - tend to use 7 day shop too. Not had any problems and tend to get up to 20 hrs. However, I've been advised that they are not suitable for the Vision.

Re: What batteries

I also use the Panasonice ones from 7dayshop.

No issues seen in the year I have been using them (8 used so far), I use them for about 15-17 hours.

One thing that has been discussed on here previously is that after 15/17 hours I throw the master battery away and put the slave in the master position and put a fresh one in the slave position. I know £2.40 is cheap and some people replace both but seems a good way to run. You always have a new battery in the back-up position.

I buy 10 at a time works out at about £2.40 each, pretty good considering AP want £21.74 for 2 - ouch!!!

John

Re: What batteries

Panasonic in the classic and Energizer (I think) in the Vision, I think the Energizers are OK by APD in the Vision.

Re: What batteries

I had some problems with my Classic and the use of Duracells.
When I calibrate the warning 'low battery' appears even when the battery is just new.

I switched to new Panasonics just to determine if it is the Duracell but also these new Panasonics gave the same warning.

When switching the Slave to Master the problems dissapear.
Normally my left one is the Master.

Any idea what causes this warning? Bad contacts?

Re: What batteries

I would guess the microswitch in the handset is about to give up. Quite cheap to fix at AP or can be done by yourself also.

ehmmmmmmm yeah sure....... How? where?

Thanks for your reply but as you can tell this is hard for me to do as I never openen the handsets before.
Is this safe to do and most of all which part to replace?

The problem also accurs when diving in cold water.

Perhaps a manual anywhere to been found with pictures?

Some info: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/inspi...ht=Microswitch

Might be best if you just send the lid to AP for check up.

That microswitch is the only part inside the handset that is not potted. You just open the four screws that hold the black cover on the actual handset housing. Then just unscrew some more from the clear plastic handset housing and voila you see the internals and the microswitch
