Re: What batteries

Hi...

I have used Varta, Duracell and GP batteries, and they all preformed fine to my use...

I also tried some really cheap batteries from a local handystore, and I could not even get the controllers started... Crap...

Cheers

Re: What batteries

Two panasonic died quickly for me (out of 7 I think). Varta has always been working fine. Now I will try Philips and also Duracell.

Thanks for your reply but as you can tell this is hard for me to do as I never openen the handsets before.
Is this safe to do and most of all which part to replace?

The problem also accurs when diving in cold water.

Perhaps a manual anywhere to been found with pictures?
If your not hands on then i would not recommend it .
the internal module is exposed after the top lid is removed.
it is beded in silicon used when they seal the lid ,obviously lots of faith in the quality of the casting and the single o ring to use so much .
i think enough has been said allready about the handsets.
you then have to gently prise the controller module out while pushing on the cable from the other side inside the head, as the cable is a very tight fit thru the glands .
saw some rust on the top face inside one of mine so for the first time in 7 years i stripped em down meself, just takes a bit of time & care.
After getting em out and having a closer look ,the cause of the rust was the snapped end of a stanley knife blade embedded in the clear module potting compound from a previous AP "service" .
never used anything except panasonics in the classic ,had no probs.
