| Rate my rebreather! Hello, this is a sort of introduction to RBWorld, just to demonstrate my unit and get some comments, I got a 3rd hand Inspiration Classic with an alibox and CD backplate earlier this year and have sweated blood putting it all together ![]() ![]() I am doing the course on 7th December in Plymouth and do not want to turn up with a unit that self-destructs on contact with water! To get the counterlungs fit I have already had to cut new holes in the flap :$ Please have a look at the photos at any comments will be very welcome, Will FWIW the Alibox is very sturdy and routes the hoses well |

| Re: Rate my rebreather! Hi there, Just wondering why you have chosen to use a backplate when you have the ali box? I just bought a box from Michael and he claims that he has no idea why people would use a back plate in addition to the box, since the box is already so sturdy. Just a thought. Enjoy the Inspiration. I think you will like it. Regards, Randy

| Re: Rate my rebreather! Please have a look at the photos at any comments will be very welcome, Will FWIW the Alibox is very sturdy and routes the hoses well Check that the wing when fully inflated doesn't push the loop hoses up too much. Sounds silly but put it all on and the loop in your mouth then stand in front of a mirror and check it. If the clips were behind the top of the back plate theres something wrong with the position of the plate. The back of the harness is standard and its just been cut to add the quick release clips. The top of the BP should come to the top of your spine level with the sholder blades. The Clips should be resting on top of your shoulders. If they were behind the plate the counter lungs would be too far back over the shoulder. I couldn't find a better pic than this one to show the location of the T piece when its in the right position. It will be almost vertical on the top of the shoulder. ![]() ATB Mark

| Re: Rate my rebreather! How do you mount the webbing harnes if you dont use a BP? The ali box has slits cut in it for the webbing. If you are using a backplate as well, you are bascially using two backplates. Mind you, I haven't actually dived mine yet, but this is what Michael Hearn explained to me when I picked up my box from him one week ago.ATB Mark

None of my wings would accommodate such rigging so it would be interesting to see yours. ATB Mark

| Re: Rate my rebreather! Will there is something odd in the last photo? I can see part of the webbing for the counter lungs sticking out over the top of the harness and comfort pad? Why is that? The webbing for the counter lungs should be behind the back plate. There are a couple of holes for locating its position. The hole thats showing flapped over the BP looks to be the one that should be located on the top bolt. Were you trying to line the Counter lungs up with the bottom bolt hole? Thats not going to work on some BPs ATB Mark
