AFAIK, my Inspiration w Vision Electronics is being collected from AP next week. Course starts the following Monday

well, I just did a plop into gildy on Sunday, with v30 software, and the handset logged a 25 minute dive, with the VR3 reporting 36 minutes so I can confirm what Lou says. Not downloaded it yet, but I'll do so tonight hopefully

Just a quick one as so many posts to wade through

But I've not heard anything from AP over the long weekend, so I am assuming that it was not a user error as no-one has come back to me saying 'silly moo' you've cocked up the upload.

Plus as I've just read that Simon has had the same error.

I didn't post on the 'list' due to email problems, plus the people on there do not seem to take me seriously. I also believe that AP will post if/when they have more information.

All I can say is if the problems show else where, its probably best to drop Nicky an email, the more data they have showing the error the better chance they have of rooting out the problem.

Once again as soon as I have more information I'll post

Sorry can't do tonight, my electronics are down at Beanie's so can't do till tomorrow night.

OK just timed a minute in demo mode and 1 minute of vision demo mode took 1 minute 1 second

doing a longer run of 5 minutes min gives a time of 5:08

so it is slowing but not as obviously as it was on the dive

11 seconds slow after 7 minutes

so nothing unusal showing in the demo mode

so are you saying that the time difference gets longer the longer the dive(relitive to the elapsed time)?

I ran two dives to 60m for 20mins BT and it was out by about 3secs for the whole dive (51mins in total but that could of been my timing error) But that was with trimix software. After talking to the guy that writes this stuff he seemed to think it could be different between the nitrox software and the trimix.
so far mine seems cock on

Running it in demo mode for a 'normal' dive the timer was probably only a sec or 2 per minutes at most out of sync with what we expected it to be. This could be due to the user error

1 min real time = 0:58min on Vision
1 min real time = 0:59min on Vision

Using a longer timing period:
5 mins real time is equal to the Vision showing 4:52mins
7 mins real time is equal to Vision showing 6:49mins

I'd say that all in the all the timer in the demo mode of the Nitrox software is near as damm it spot on. It certainly wasn't loosing the time it was loosing when it was in dive mode. The 1-2sec discrepancies are most probably due to error's with the timer person accuracy.

All the other functions kicked in when they should etc.

I've still not heard from AP on this. I'm going to drop Nicky an email to see if they've any news on it. I would of thought that if it was my error they would of nudged me and given me the 'silly moo you cocked up the upload email' by now

Whilst checking bits out, the previous version that had been ran on the unit ie 28 seemed to be ok, no nasty timing anomalies there. Version 29, I can't really say as I didn't dive the unit with this version due to squiffy ears.

I hope that it is something that can be sorted soon. It may only be just the nitrox software that has the glitch in it, but you can never be too sure.

Not sure whether any of this will make any sense at all
