| Re: Bad Timekeeping! The time keeping issue was noticed on our training course our insructor Gary Fox was concerned enough to ring AP from Egypt there advise was to set the conservatism to level 2 to correct the problem this clearly didnt work . I have spoken on the phone on our return and was told an update would be available shortly (this was in september).I then had a long conversation with nikky at the dive show and was assured that the update would be available in a few days and that we would be contacted. And this is were i think they let themselves down my husband spent £11,000 with them and to date we have not had so much as an email on the progress of this supposed update to the software let alone an apology. They are shooting themselves in the foot on this one as more people read about these issues in this and other forums i wonder how many unit sales they have lost,or maybe thats the problem with a nice long waiting list maybe they dont care.I must also say though after my little rant i find diving on the unit a dream. angie. ![]() |

Angie, we too had a conversation with AP at the show - a lengthy one where we were told that this was nothing to be concerned with it was merely a 'display' issue, the release would be out the following week and it would all be sorted... But nothing They said they would keep in contact with us but nothing It is us that have been doing the chasing. And we keep getting the same response... it is being tested, please bear with us.I'm now struggling to bare with them any longer, we are on holiday in less than 2 weeks time and I'm now not prepared to take my unit with me, not matter how much I like it ![]() Anyway tomorrow is another day, we will be in contact with AP first thing - we'll keep you updated. Night Lou x

| Re: Bad Timekeeping! Just wondering how many others are having problems. So far ?3 people on the forum. MAD - you and the SWMBO both have EVO's - same probs? 1 or 2 cases could be local gremlins... this many is a major disaster waiting to happen! When you speak to AP tomorrow tell them the good will has gone and they will not get the KY on it before you stuff it where the sun doesn't shine! Pauly |

| Re: Bad Timekeeping! I do think overall it is a display issue, but it should still not take this long to resolve a known problem. If you down load a dive into log-viewer (finaly got mine to work) you will see in dive profile the time will be wrong, but in dive information the time will be right as is elasped on time and total dive time. Also the bar along the top also seems to show the correct info regardless of which screen you are in. So the unit is tracking the correct time in its memory, it just does not seem to show it on the hand display. ATB Gareth |

| Re: Bad Timekeeping! Lou, sorry I can't help to shed any light on the problems you are seeing. I am diving the Trimix version and touch wood my unit has worked faultlessly. The timing issue was a problem for me on ver 29 but was quickly fixed with ver 30 and has been fine since. Maybe (???) this is all to do with the Nitrox or timer versions but it seems like a lot of problems with what should be only a slight change of functionality. APD have a lot of work to do to improve these problems - if I were to read about these experiences I would be disinclined to buy an Inspo or Evo. Sad for a unit I am actually very happy with. The power of the internet to allow people to communicate from every point around the world makes it very difficult to isolate or ignore problems or failings. It seems that APD has some work to do in communicating with their customers. Long delays, long lead times, machining problems and software problems deserve to be addressed with their customers. Mind you APD are not alone here - customer service in general has a need to universally improve. In my experience - good communication can help alleviate many problems. If you are up front, acknowledge the failing and tell your customers what is going on whilst you are working on fixing it - most people will be reasonable and sympathetic.

| Re: Bad Timekeeping! Louby Lou, something just occured to me, yours was delivered with version 3.0 ? Maybe installing the "new" 3.0 might help sort some of the things out. I think I have seen posts somewhere where some nitrox 3.0 people were not having problems. Just a thought and might be worth trialing to get you diving safely with some confidence. AP customer service very shabby. Communication is key. |

| Consent Issued! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Bad Timekeeping! Lou, A suggestion that may get you on holiday. Have the unit swapped over to either Trimix or Timer only mode. If you go for Timer only, take a VR3 / Explorer on holiday with you. My Trimix software is working fine, but I can understand your frustration with AP. They are consistantly unable to hit their own targets for resolution of this problem. Trading Standards seems like a good idea. "Not fit for Purpose", and "Not of Merchantable Quality" seem very fair descriptors at the moment. |

Wizbang - my Vision was shipped with version 28 of the software - Version 30 on my unit is the one sent from AP to upgrade from the previous problems that were apparent in the Trimix version that I have downloaded as I was told by them. Depth-Junkie - whilst it does seem like a display problem - the other issues re changing settings are extremely disorientating - changing my depth units is potentially dangerous - what if this was to happen during a dive!

| Re: Bad Timekeeping! My unit was supplied with ver 3.0 software .I had wondered if re installing an earlier version would be better but if the problems were apparent as early as ver 2.8 there must be some serious glitches to sort out. angie |

| Re: Bad Timekeeping! At the moment the way to get it to work is to give AP another £115 for the Trimix version. So you will have something you didn't want, spent even more money, but be able to use a unit that should have worked correctly from new. I am now pleased I cancelled my order.. |
