| I may have got this wrong but the only way I can see from the Dive 2007 pictures that this can seal from CC to OC is if there is a tube going across the inner barrel that connects the mouthpiece to the OC reg when turned & this is what isolates from CC ? Or is there something I am missing ? Also looking at this picture :- ![]() What is the silver screw/nut above & slightly right (dil side) of the OC reg ? I assume the yellow collar fitted O2 side of the Bov is to aid turning ? or is it purely an indicator & would break if you operated the Bov by it ? Any idea what the 2nd stage is ? Throw together of disguarded Autoairs maybe ? TIA

| Re: New AP Bov So are you saying there is " CC - Closed - OC " ie 3 positions ? Sorry Colin.. Yes 3 positions, down - closed, middle - CC and up - OC. I was chatting to another Vision owner at the time and he was saying that he didn't understand why AP didn't go for a switch block like most others.. Personally, I liked it but Mike wouldn’t give any idea of the cost.

| Re: New AP Bov Up like the OC second stage is right infront of the nose ? I suspect the outer barrel has the mouthpiece and reg attached.. that stays where it is.. the inner barrel moves... just like a normal DSV.![]() I wonder how bad the exhaust will obstruct the diver's view then... That said I've not seen the unit. Steve |

| CK+Shearwater Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New AP Bov Yes it was a pre-production model, Martin said some minor changes to the mould where required as the surface had some lines on he wasn't happy with- quiet right too IMO. The little silver bold above and to the right of the reg was part of the mechanism that worked the indent system on this version, seemed to be a ball bearing or similar to allow it to click into open or closed postion, I didn't ask if it was staying or not. The light wasn't so good such that I could see into the mouthpiece clearly and describe how it works exactly, but the yellow marker was seemed to line up to the open and closed positions. When in OC mode a small spirng was visible, I wondered wether turning to OC was more about opening the exhaust than anything else? The reg on the front appeared to be all new, no Autoair parts? and could be fed from left or right. Martin was keen to point out it is able to achieve the desired CE WOB level at 75mtrs (not the required 50) and on Air! This would seem to me to be the first fully intergrated BOV (rather than a DSV with a reg attached) IT was suggested it would be supplied as a simple swap out for the current front loop. You just remove the hoses from your T-piece's and reconnect the loop with the BOV in its place. I have to thanks Martin who took quiet abit of time to speak with us about the BOV and several other Rebreather issues, also about the M26 nitrox thread issue (as he is part of the UK panel on this he had alot of interesting aspects to consider) In contrast to this we also looked at the Sentinal BOV, surely one of the smoothest acting BOV's I've experienced, the knob on the front glides round as if on ice! it is however massive, the main part is the size of a coffee mug with a reg as a handle.... I'd imagine this allows for a huge internal space and great WOB, the weight suggested you'll need a jaw like David Coultard to do a pre-breath ![]()
