| Re: New AP Bov By the way is anyone out there using the Golem setup with an Evolution? Yes, and it is a brilliant BOV.I use the same Golem BOV set-up with the Insp-Vision and Meg as well. You could change the flow direction in seconds by simply flipping the diaphragm holders. One of the things you have to remember is BOV tends to be heavier than a standard DSV due to the added weight of the material, plus the inner of the second stage. It also enlarges the overall size. What all those mean is diving in current or scootering, you will need some sort of chin rest to keep having to bit hard on the mouth piece. By having a second stage on the bottom allows you to add a chin rest easily, it took me 2 minutes to build a chin rest for the Golem BOV. And on bottom means the current won't be pushing against the purge button area as well - which is important when you have a fast scooter... ![]() |

I am assuming that using the Golem BOV together with the FFM will relieve some of the weight on the jaw, although I do understand that there is a bite piece inside the FFM. In light of what you said regards the positioning of the second stage on the bottom of the Golem BOV, what are the advantages of having the second stage on the front as per the AP BOV? Is it just for keeping size/profile down? Many thanks Stu |

| Re: New AP Bov I can hear that quiet! Its there to hold the spring and ballbearing in the "indent" to make the switching positions a positive fix. It wont be there in the production model, I think its so they can play with different tensions to get the switching feel right![]() Not the connector on the second stage, by the way, the small screw on top of the BOV body. ![]() Dave |

| Re: New AP Bov Thanks for the reply. The Bite piece in the Drager FFM is not really load bearing, you can spit it out without feeling any added weight. The strap harness opn the FFM supports the BOV nicely, you do not feel anyweight, only the profile is little larger than with standard bite piece.I am assuming that using the Golem BOV together with the FFM will relieve some of the weight on the jaw, although I do understand that there is a bite piece inside the FFM. Stu Folks at OTS made a really compact comm system for us. ![]() and ![]() more info here Golem Gear, Inc. - Buddy Phone for FFM And we have even cooler comm stuff comming out at DEMA ![]() come see us. |
