| Well I am going to the local bar for sevral beers because I am really $$&%&* off. I recently had a full loom rewire and 2 new handsets on the Classic, not cheap. I had one aborted dive due to 02 inflator needing servicing, I bought a new dil and 02 inflator buttons, serviced the other two and added them so I could run offboard dil and 02. Some additional bail out and offboard 02 cylinders, booked my self on the Jupiter trip this Saturday, two nights in a hotel in lauderdale, dog in the kennels, day off tomorrow, nice restaurant booked for Saturday as my wife is coming down. More than this when I moved to Fl from the UK over 2 years ago I was an active Instructor, diving 12 months of the year and to be honest I lost the desire to dive when we arrived BUT over the last couple of months it's back, so I was really looking forward to Saturday. I have gone home from work, straight into the garage to work the unit up for Saturday, cylinders were filled and analysed yesterday. Everything was ready and then the RH Handset would not power up, changed the batteries, LH side still fine RH nothing! I took the cover off the handset and even to me the problem was slightly obvious, the copious amounts of water in the bottom portion of the handset, it's $^*(ed. It's in a DHL box on it's way to Maine first thing tomorrow. It looks like the top of the handset had not been sealed properly, there is a significant gap - I'll post some photos before it goes tomorrow. I have lost the dive this weekend and I am really hacked off, Needed to rant

| Re: The unhappiest Camper Hi, I really feel for your frustration as you'd expect it not to flood after a service and having paid a lot of hard earned dosh you'd think it would have been properly checked. Whenever our handsets have been opened we test them for leaks in a bucket of water with the black cover removed before diving. Once when the end your talking about was removed we detected a small stream of bubbles emerging after it was reassembled. Opened it up resiliconed, closed and all was good. I know this doesn't help now but when you get it back a quick check may prevent this from happening again, even if it has been done by the factory. Hope it is fixed FOC and you don't have any further problems.

I'm grounded because of the Malaysian postal serviceNeeded to rant , is unable to competently deliver a new set of AI sensors that I need in order to dive with confidence. |
