Re: neoprene counter lungs

we are also interested to get some - for a new project, - and make our own endeavor to get it on the way - ...but, - what´s with the inserts? are there any standards? produce them without holes for t-pieces, and, and,..? glued or stiched or both? many questions. keep us updated.
regards,
peter

Re: neoprene counter lungs

I have Neoprene CL's on my Inspiration, which were made a few years ago for myself and my buddy, by ISC. At the time Leon made them to suit the Inspiration fittings etc, but to the same design and size as the Meg CL's. They have been excellent (although not 100% water tight), and make for an extremely streamlined and un-cluttered rig.
With the Fastex attachment to the backplate (Ali or SS), they are simple to remove, clean and dry. My buddy was less keen on his, and reverted to modified (removable) Inspiration CL's.... and then moved on to a Meg anyway, but with the fabric CL's.
(I think I have managed to attach a photo.....?!) :-)

The straps are glued on, and secured with reinforcing patches. There is also a strap/loop on the back to attach the CL to the webbing harness shoulder strap. The bottom of the CL is held down by extensions to the crotch strap, with Fastex buckles[ATTACH]

Thank you for the pictures.

Very nice. I already have a pair of hamemade Neoprene Counter lungs, but i am not satisfied with the way they are attached til my backplate. I thin i will copy this concept.

Re: neoprene counter lungs

I have talked to my friends and they say that they will be able to make some neoprene counter lungs.

If someone else is willing to pitch in I'll be more than happy to have more than one made.

Better if you provide some drawings/size info.

Or it will take some time and trial and error on my part

Thanks,

Teoman

Re: neoprene counter lungs

Some prototypes:

The counterlung does not have any attachment points. Some will be added soon. There is only a single inflator attached to it. The positive pressure test is ok, will perform further tests.

On wednesday I will go to the factory and have myself another 2 sets made.

Re: neoprene counter lungs

What is the best type of neoprene to use for counterlungs?

Normal foam type used in westsuits or compressed, crushed or solid (not foam) neoprene?

What about EPDM, urethane coated cordura or other such like materials?
