MCCR Inspo?

I was wondering has anyone done a "COPIS" Inspo?

In the event of a huge electronics failure (and failure to fund a repair / replacement) is the rest of the unit good enough that you could get away with an orifice system on and an rEvodream or something and carry on diving it mCCR?

Just a thought.

Dave

Re: MCCR Inspo?

I believe Denzel is working on such a unit. The other person who has such a project underway is called Russ on this forum.

Cheers.

I think a few people in Germany have added the Submatix MCCR orifice system too.

Cheers,

Re: MCCR Inspo?

Hi,

Yes "Seppu" is using a MCCR Inspo with great success. He uses a Shearwater GF Computer and the rEvodream HUD/PO2 display (= 5 O2 cells) and his own scrubber head:

Re: MCCR Inspo?

Exactly what I have in my bedroom.(where it should live....)

Never been wet yet, but good hope that I'll pul my thumb out and put it all together and be diving it before X-mas. Will be tight, but do-able.

I decided against sticking the orifice O2 feed in the head, but went for a second ADV to be mounted on the exhale CL with the guts removed, so it's just an entry point. With that set up the O2 can mix through the scrubber before finding me...

The head is an empty hammerhead.

Denz.

hai
for the 02 i use a inflator nipple on the head.first idea was the cl but to much trouble with the needle valve.the problem was water comes from the cl to the valve.now the scrubber head ist a good place.dont forget, the o2 comes constantly.i have 60 dives with this rebreather(most trimix) and never o2 spikes.

Re: MCCR Inspo?

What I worried about is the big empty space in my head.
Let me rephrase that.
The hammer head head has all the space for a col set of leccies, but leaving them all out, leaves a bit of an open space. I figured that if I'd feed the O2 in there, it might fill the head up, forming a pocket before starting to mix in the loop. The idea of a pocket of (relatively) pure O2 in my breatha didn't appeal to me. It might be utter bollox that idea, but for a few $$$$ i solved it and gave myself piece of mind. (ish)

Will let you know how it works..

Denz.
