Evo batteries

I am in Port Douglas in Northern Australia and have been trying to source batteries for my Evolution. I can get Kodak 2015 (CRP2 equivilant) does anyone know if these are ok to use in the Vision for the Evo?

Re: Evo batteries

Go the Duracell mate, recommended here: Ambient Pressure Diving Ltd.

The Kodak ones are probably just rebadged anyway but who would take that chance?

Some of the info is in http://www.rebreatherworld.com/inspi...tml?#post97992.

There is apparently also some information in one of the videos on the AP website. Essentially it's to do with the Panasonic's behaviour under load and the ability of the Vision electronics to hand over from one controller to another if the power drops rapidly.

This has been discussed many times on here and the Inspiration list. For me, it boils down to: AP designed the Vision for a particular battery behaviour and discharge profile that allows the controllers to hand over from one to another. A number of batteries on the market deliver that profile, Panasonics and a few others do not. The batteries that work are reasonably readily available (at least as available as lime and other Rebreather disposables), so use them and don't risk your life using the more readily available substitutes.

However, there do seem to be people out there using Panasonics. YMMV.

HTH,
