Vision Buttons very hard to press underwater

Hi Folks,

Did a dive there on saturday and i found it very difficult to press the buttons on the vision handset. I'd say i was about 10-15m deep and i was trying to get into the menu to change setpoint.

Has anyone else encountered this on their visions?

Been there, had same problem initially during training. You soon get past it with a bit of practice. The trick is to press the L & R buttons simultaneously to get into the menus.

Keep an eye on the dash mark - appearing on the screen above the buttons. If one appears before the other then you've fluffed it.

Yeah i was watching out for the dashes alright but it was very hard to get them to come up. And getting them to display at the same time... good night...

Might be the positioning of the handset on your wrist. That took a bit of tweaking. I had a tendency to make contact with the L button before the R due to the angle.

I presume it all works dandy in the comfort of your sitting room?

Yeah not a bother when i'm on the surface. I was just wondering if it could possible be a problem when the handset is under pressue. I have a couple of dives on the laurentic this weekend so i'll test it out more then.

When I got my vision in december 2005 I had the same problem, but then I installed the new software in the beginning af 2006 and the problem was fixed.

Do you have an old SW version?

Re software update there is another dating from April of this year (not sure if it has anything relating to this issue, its contents are well described elsewhere on this forum but the battery test is worth it alone) : V02_01_03 (Released 14th April 2007)

Yer thats the same version that i have alright.

For the moment i'll put it down to user error but if i'm still having the same issues after the weekend i'll contact AP and see what they have to say about it.

I'll let yis know how i get on.

I just purchased a new Evolution and the Vision buttons wouldn't respond to me at first whilst it would for my instructor. The problem seems to be going away although I have yet to dive the unit since my training.

Been there, seen it, done it.......

Are you using the Vision on your wrist? Works ok on the surface? Mine became a lot easier to drive when I moved the Vision unit off my wrist and hung it from my chest strap. I can now use both hands to push the buttons and it always works first time.
