| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Mouth piece on the inspiration Hi all!! I'm having trouble with the stock mouth piece on the inspiration. It's supposed to be the smaller one, but I still gag on it!! After a dive, my teeth and my jaw hurt. I have to keep pressure on the mouth piece during the dive, otherwise it leaks from the top. It really messes with my back teeth. Like have braces on again!! Any idea what can be done? I know it says you're not supposed to use any other mouth piece then what comes with it. Thanks! Heather. |

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration If you were already considering buying a BOV you might want to go ahead and get one. I had the same issue and after I bought the Golem Gear BOV the problem was gone. John |

You have to work a little beet with it to make the back hole big enaught for the inpi but it works. Other posibility is a normal silicone mouthpice for kids. Good luck Mikel

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration Have you tried dropping a line to APD? Martin has some strong views on the mouthpiece...and if I recall it is associated with the WOB (work of breathing). He has posted here and also on the Inspo mailing list on the subject. Not sure how good an idea it would be to use a small mouthpiece designed for kids?! IMHO APD would be the best source of advice as I am sure you are not the first person to struggle with the issue. They have always been extremely helpful to me either on phone or by email. Steve |

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration I had the same issue with my Inspiration mouth piece. I finally adjusted the hose weights a bit and all was right with the world. RRB |

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration i had a similar problem with mine letting water in from the top, problem solved with hose weights moved up and the T Pieces angled out slightly (it also was uncomfortable on my teeth) cheers Adam |

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration Hi... I would try adjusting the weights, and angle the T-pieces/hoses, and buy a JAX... It's nice, havn't tried it, but my buddy had one on his Inspo... Bo Urskov |

Bo Urskov I second this suggestion, and as with anything it's a case of 'getting used to it' i'm affraid......... unless you get a BOV!!! ![]()

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration [quote=Nick uk.;128169]I second this suggestion. We 3rd and 4th this suggestion. Play with the weight positons and T piece angles. My partners hose has been shortened because she is small and this helps as well. But don't get the knife out until all else has been tried.

| Re: Mouth piece on the inspiration SeaCure moldable mouthpiece. Takes a little bit of work to get on but it is more comfortable, feels more secure in the mouth. You have to heat up the end that fits on the hose (just be sure not to heat it up too much as it will stretch too much) and then I double zip tied it just to make sure it wasn't going anywhere. Since my first dive I had problems with getting kinks in my hose (hate when that happens) but playing with it and shortening it a little fixed the problem. Not that I ever would recommend shortening your hose. ![]() |
