Not even done the course yet or had a try dive on one. Finding it hard to get info on try dives in the North West (UK) Cheers If you mean Inspiration with Vision Electronics or Evolution with Vision Electronics I think the it is a personal decision although the Inspiration would have the edge deeper than 90 mtrs. The Evolution has the edge shallower because it is smaller more compact unit and you would be comfortable to Max 90 mtrs with this unit. They both have the Temp stick option and full Vision Electronics and cost the same to buy. The Inspiration casing is a little better because of it's bigger size if you intend to attach cylinders to the outside but the Evolution wins if you intend to fly a lot to dive. Also your own physical size could be a factor if you are 6'8" you are probably better with the Inspiration (Vision Electronics) or visa versa if you are half the size. I think you need to ask yourself are you confident enough to show up to a dive boat full of Inspirations if you have a Evolution and not feel the need to explain your self.. ![]() |

| Re: Inspiration or Evolution SimonTW, both on here and at yorkshire-divers, may be the guy to contact. He's locally based for you and a top bloke to boot. Of course you could always get hold of Dennis Vessey for a try on a Meg! Or get to Plymouth and try the lot, including KISS, with Rich Stevenson. |

| Re: Inspiration or Evolution 12 "stone 5ft 6ins medium build. Hi....At the moment dive on Faber twin 12's. Still First up the ramp at Dotty ![]() Cheers Like said earlier, if you have looked at an Inspiration Vision, the difference is only the size... 2L tanks instead of 3L tanks, smaller scrubber than on an Inspo, hence shorter duration.... Long deep dives - Inspiration Flying - Evolution Thats my opinion, anyway... But I have never dived an Evolution Cheers Bo Urskov |

| Re: Inspiration or Evolution I used to have the inspiration classic but sold it and brought an evolution instead. The evo is great to dive with, quite compact and sits quite nicely on the back (i m 6'2") It has been said that it looks like a pimple on St Pauls on me. Given the choice again, I think I would go for the Inspiration; there isnt a great weight difference between the 2 once on your back, the scrubber has to be packed more often, and you are forever getting fills for the 2L cylinders! My has now been taken to pieces, put in a Micheal Hearne frame and 3L cylinders used instead! You always have the option of buying the other scrubber from AP and then you have both!! |

| Re: Inspiration or Evolution 12 "stone 5ft 6ins medium build. We are in similar height/weight range with me a little taller and lighter. The standard Inspiration looks/feels huge on me, and the Evolution looks/feels just right. I have buddies who are 5'10" and taller, yet still prefer the Evolution. If you are concerned about the tank size, just use one of the (many) after-market frames. It will improve the buoyancy (if using the right one), allow use of larger tanks, easier to travel, etc. What I did was getting the longer scrubber base (from Inspiration Vision) as well, so I could use either scrubber size to suit the dives.

| Re: Inspiration or Evolution Will the longer scrubber fit inside the evolution back box... AFAIK, it will not fit without modification to the Evolution case.Regardless, I feel that the tank size will "limit" your dives more than the scrubber - if you do multiple dives in a row. Download the APD manual, it is free and one of the best documents you could read about the APD units.
