| Drying the unit Hi All, I managed to get out diving on Sunday, first time in a while due to bad weather. Brought the unit home, full de-salt clean and a buddy clean. Got home in the afternoon as the temp was dropping, so could only leave it outside in the sun for a short time. I sat the Rebreather in the bath tub overnight, only to find when coming home from work tonight it is still fairly damp. Inside the head is dry, but inside the hoses and lungs are still fairly wet (I got quite a few drops out of the lungs). Since this is my first winter diving the Inspo, I was wondering if there are any tips on drying the unit properly during cold weather. We are fortunate enough not to get snow here in Adelaide, but the recent overnight temps have been down as low as 1 or 2 (34-36), but averaging around 4-8 (39-46). Daytime is around 12-15 (53-59). I mention all this as I assume those in really cold climates have drying rooms. I am unable to leave it outside as I am at work and dont really have a secure enough yard. The garage is also out (colder in there anyway). Basically the drying room is our 2nd bathroom. Any suggestions? Oh, all temps are in celcius, f'ht in ( )! JD

| Re: Drying the unit I need 5-6 days to dry the cl´s complete. When it is to could outside i need more day´s. I think the reason is that you can´t remove the t-piece´s. Ok with a special tool, but apd say´s that leads to leaks ??!! And so not enough air can circulate in the cl´s. I think it is ok when you have a rest moisture in the cl´s. Desinfakt und Clean, and thats it. Cheers Markku ![]() |

| Re: Drying the unit Hi... I had an Inspiration Classic earlier, and after cleaning it, I took all the hoses off, so the T-pieces has no hoses on them, and took out the manual DIL/O2 add buttons out, and left it in my basement. The were no heating in the basement, so in the danish winter it was quite cold... It will take some time, but it get's dry... Like said above, if you clean and disinfect your lungs once in a while, I don't see it as a problem... Then it's only freshwater... Cheers Bo Urskov |

Next day we drain any remaining water from the lungs. We assist the head drying by drying it out with a chux cloth. The units lives in the garage tied up vertically on top of the work bench. That's it until the next weekend.
