Can anyone interpret a Vision download for me

Would anyone be willing to look at an APD log file from my last dive, if i e-mail it to them.
I put 3 new cells in prior to this dive. The following occured.

Cell number 3 during the dive seems to be always lagging behind cells 1+2.
On calibration Cells 1+2 seem to top out at 1.01 and 1.04 respectively.
However Cell 3 only gets to 0.78.
This is the first dive with these new cells.

During the accent cell 3 was always lagging behind cells 1+2. Also it was jumping around, as you looked at the display it would read 1.19 then suddenly jump to 1.25ish.
I increased the PO2 to 1.6 to see if the Cells linearity was okay, all reached 1.6 although cell 3 read the lowest.
I did NOT get any cell errors.
I e-mailed the file to Nicky at APD and she suggested i swap the cells posistion in the unit, to see if the problem moves. The problem i have is i am not due to dive till i take my unit abroad on 4th August. Therefore i would like to know if the cell is okay or not. If you do want to look and think you cn work it out please reply with your e-mail and i will send the APD log file. Obviously you will require the APD softwear as well. Thanks.

No warnings , and reaching 1.6 seems ok. Are the cells new and did you let them breathe or fit them straight from the packet. If you cannot dive before your trip it might be an idea to buy some spare cells , or at least one.

No, fitted strait from pack, but were in unit with o2 in for about 24 hours before dive. Will take spares, just the cell did not seam to behave as i would expect

Can you not mark all 3 cells and there locations then swap them around and carry out a dry run on the unit and breath from it for a couple of minutes and manually inject o2 into the loop and see how the cells react? If they react the same in there new locations then you know that you may have a faulty cell.
This maybe your best option before your holiday.

I presume these are the cell millivolt readings observed during calibration. According to the Vision manual they should be between 7.5and 13mV so the 0.78 seems very close to the low limit. But if they all reach 1.6 during an O2 flush then they could be OK but I'd bring a spare cell or 2 just in case.

Patto,
Nicky at AP says that the Mv reading on calibration is not a cause for concern!!

As posted by Martin on the Inspiration List, low voltage cells last longer...

On my unit C3 gets to 0.85 on calib. while C1 & C3 get to 1.05 & 1.10, not a problem.

On a dive C2 seems to lag C1 & C3 & is mostly voted out...

Not a problem, however, each set of cells seems to have it's own personality....

Re: Can anyone interpret a Vision download for me

had something (a bit) similar. I put in three new cells, they calibrated fine and all mV readings were similar and moved at the same rate when flushing. At the start of the dive all three cells were reading very similar, but half way through, cell 2 started reaing low. Consistently low. Towards the end of the dive, the cell 2 reading was again the same as the others.

Swapped cell positions, and the problem went away. It's certainly worth doing this even if you're not diving. If the mV issue moves with the cell, try and get it replaced on warranty. If it stays with the location, check the connector

Re: Can anyone interpret a Vision download for me

Comment about low voltage cells lasting longer may be true...but be aware that if it does not climb above 0.70 for a cell during callibration then you will get a failed calibration followed by "NO DIVE" warning. I had that on one cell after a couple of month's use. Went back to AP for a warranty replacement

C2 commonly lags...esp towards end of a dive in cold water... presumed it is related to condensation...rarely voted out tho..
