| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Do you trust your vision ?? Just a thought (as i dive a classic) but there seem to be an increasing number of threads on here about problems with the vision and it's software. I am always thinking of changing up but (touch wood) i have had no probs with my classic and would not want to get hold of a unit that has to constantly go back to AP so do you trust your vision ? any thoughts ash |

I am always thinking of changing up but (touch wood) i have had no probs with my classic and would not want to get hold of a unit that has to constantly go back to AP so do you trust your vision ? any thoughts ash Isn't this a bit of a silly question? Surely, you must trust your life to it or you wouldn't get in the water. Just as many if not more problems with the Classic so I don't see as it makes much difference. If you get a good unit your lucky same as with the Classic. One dive buddy with a Classic has had no problems at all, another has had exactly the same problems as i suffered. Cracked hand sets, corroded looms, battery contact issues, handsets shutting off under water. Last dive after the unit just came back from a service and new loom. He jumped in the water and had both hand sets shut down on the way to the wreck. So ones off and the other says waiting for data??? Same things happened on my old unit. Same with the Vision, I know divers who have had on end of issues and divers who apparently have missed them all. Mind you on questioning the "Ive had no problems" bunch have had most of the problems but don't consider them serious enough to worry about. The only ECCR i haven't herd a load of issues over is the Apex2 Meg. However these are rocking horse poo over here. Ill have a better opinion of them after this year as two of the divers in our group have just replaced their old dead Megs with Apex2 heads. ATB Mark Chase

| Re: Do you trust your vision ?? I agree with Mark - and I certainly don't see an increasing number of threads on here. I would expect to see a few more than other units simply because of the fact that there are more Visions out there than every other unit combined. Stuart

| Re: Do you trust your vision ?? Since the Vision is does more, there are more areas for things to go wrong? e.g. Classic + VR£ issues v's Vision issues That said, if you have no confidence in your unit, that's a bad thing, fair or not. |

| If you trust your unit ( what ever it is ) with your life then why carry bailout ? Me I have a healthy respect that my vision will try killing me at some point because of something I have/have not done ,So I trust the unit (ish) but I dont trust myself so always carry bailout

| Re: Do you trust your vision ?? The question has been put in an unfortunate way. No rebreather diver trusts his unit with his life and there have been many posts stating this. I certainly have confidence in my Vision but carry bail out gas on every dive, however shallow. The software issues appear to have been ironed out and the latest upgrade is another step forward with pre-dive battery testing etc. I had a VR3 from OC diving and prudence leads me to take the VR3 as a back up computer. Problems? I had problems on a dive on the Murree because I was using Panasonic batteries whilst awaiting a shipment of Fujitsus and I had the Missed Deco warning due to not holding the on button down for 3 secs or longer on another dive. I have had no leaks and my ADV has always worked properly. Is the 2007 Vision a perfect unit now? No but it's as good as anything else on the market with the added advantage of onboard deco management and the Temp stick. Charlie |

What else is there on the market that compair with a Vision??? Not much. The Borris and the Optima with Hammer Head Controller are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. They have had their fair share of problems as well. ATB Mark Chase

| New member ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Do you trust your vision ?? I'm one of the people who has a well reported incident on the Vision Electronics but I still dive the thing quite happily. I have a VR3 and that usually takes longer to clear but it isn't a plan to dive the VR3, I dive the most conservative and then some extra.
