Got home, saw an e-mail from Nicky & throught "what the hell" and installed it for my dive on Sunday. Had seen the new battery test screen on start-up at LIDS 2007.

Other new features are to lock the battery display, once it drop below a threshold it stays there even if the battery voltage recovers after the solendoid has stopped. And a fix for the problem that NigelH experienced. Vision owners can see Nicky's e-mail for details. Oh, it also stores more gases in it's list.

Fires up OK, we'll see how it runs on Sunday, I doubt I'll notice any difference.

lets us know how it gets on, after my last fiasco after an upload (craped out @ 68m) i wont be rushing to upload this.

AP sent me an updated version of 02.01.02 called 02.01.02b this solved my elecs problem and my unit has done about 60hrs since this update trouble free. So i will be keeping it that way Till you beta testers let me know the new version is rock solid

Re: AP Vision Software Ver. 2.1.3

I uploaded the software no with problem and took it for a test dive today in the cold dark waters of New England.

1 hour dive; depth 130' (40 meters); water temp 41 f (5 c);
trimix (21/11 dil) 1.3 s.p. 15 min deco time.

No problems at all. Watched c1 and c2, temp stick, battery bars, cell checks, etc.. all worked as it always has.

Hope you all have the same results. Too bad the viz was 7 feet and I could barely see the wreck.

Re: AP Vision Software Ver. 2.1.3

All working and seems fine. The new battery test on start up is quite nice

Nothing too strenuous, been a little while since I was last in the water so just a little pootle around Vobster, didn't work it too hard. Viz was not fantastic, the world and his wife where there.

Nice to see Phil Short practicising his Golum impression on the palletes, Rich Stevenson having fun with 3 Baby Meg Divers and a couple of Bori, Visions - all taking a dip in the Spring Sun

Re: AP Vision Software Ver. 2.1.3

Uploaded the software yesterday. I did a dive yesterday: strong current, low vis (0.5 to 2 meters), max depth 25 meters, duration 60 minutes, temp 8° C.

I noticed no problems but loved the new battery check routine.

No problems yesterday, did 60m dive in Channel, about 35 min on bottom 104 min run time. Liked the latching of the battery indicators, much better than seeing it flicker as solenoid fired.

Also liked new battery test, last week battery reported as OK when I fired up unit on boat to calibrate (then turn off) only to get a "low battery" warning when I turned on just before dive. Had to quickly put in a new battery, hopefully, this new test will prevent this occurring.

PS - Dark, 10C but 8m viz

Anyone know how to change my Vision start-up screen to say my name and contact info. My current start-up screen still says SDS and their Tele No.

Dave
I emailed Nicky at APD and asked for a custom splash screen with my name, tele, address. Within 24 hours she emailed the file. It took me 20 seconds to upload it to my Vision and now my info appears after the splash screen.

I have always had good service fror SDS and APD! Thanks again Nicky!!

Time to be honest! Tried it over a few dives & it appeared to eat batteries (use Fujitsu's). I re-installed v2.1.2b & have been diving this version without problem every since.

I've had the opposite. I changed over to v2.1.3 when it first appeared and battery consumption has been superb. Did a week in Malin Head in July on the same set of batteries (Fujitsu's) with no problems.

Don't know if thats down to that particular batch of batteries or the equipment itself.

Dive safe,

Gary

I agree with you JT, the batteries do seem to be going much quicker with this release.. and I don't have a copy of the old software version to revert... I am running a new set of Duracells at the moment so I'll see how long they go on for..
