| Has anyone experienced battery bounce problems with the upgraded battery box on the classic? Had a dive last week. Jumped in - swimming against current to buoy - looked at hand sets and master was blank - slave had gone into pre dive mode. - no warning buzzer (there may have been a beep as I jumped in but didn't here it!!) Bailed out & got out of water to check kit. PO 2 had dropped to below 0.4 as the buzzer sounded when I went through the dive sequence on the second handset after I had bailed out) When back onboard the electronics were fine after switching both handsets back on. Did the dive with no problems. I spoke to AP & Tony suggested that the new battery case needs to be screwed down past hand tight due to the gasket that is now included. I did duplicate the same error (ie master blank & slave into predive mode) by switching both handsets on & loosening the battery case & giving the head a jolt - so this does seem to be a reasonable explanation. Has anyone else experience this kind of issue on a classic with a new battey box. - A HUD now seems like a really good idea!! |

| Re: Battery bounce on new battery box I've still got the old style. I wrap tape* round the batteries so they fit tightly. Stops any bounce. Might be worth you doing similar. I do what Beanie does too. *zinc oxide tape, from the chemist. No reason other than it's thick, sticks like crazy and is re-useable. |
