Current Evolution delivery. Cliff at SDS is quoting 100 days for Evo delivery can anyone tell me how accurate this is? I keep reading 7 months in England are we getting them in half the time in the US or is this a Salesman talking. Please feel free to let me know if you have an evo what you think. I currently have a Inspiration and I will be either upgrading the electronics or switching to the EVO or Meg. I like my inspiration but don't like to travel with it. Hawkeye

I am slightly biased ( DIVE A MEG) but if it were me i would sell the inspo, and get onto the list for a meg you are probably looking at slightly less than 100 days for a unit from isc. better built more robust and more esially adaptably to your diving needs and requirements. I have heard good things about the new vision software but they were already on update 28 the last time i spoke to some one. Decodiver is a good source for help on this forum as he has a meg but teaches inspo and evo courses.

hmmmm unheard of for me....but this is the inspy forum so not sure of the evangelical Meg answer .... I wrote a review of what I think of the Evo V the Meg here and it is a fine unit. Which would be the best unit for you would depend on a number of factors, I think you should write them down and score em. The Vision electronics are very impressive as it the temp stick as a tool. Delivery time - 100 days seems aggresive if you ask me, but who knows, if the US market is ordering more than the UK I suspect they might get priority service... Stuart

And about late last month, mine was built (~7 months). However, since I live in the Middle-East, permission to export to here has to be obtained before it could be finished and shipped. And no permission yet after waiting for 3 weeks... ![]() |

I ordered a unit in late OCTOBER 2004. delivery date was constantly being quoted as 4 months (March) 4 months (April) 4 months (May) when I decided to cancel and wait for AP to get it's act together... I then damaged my foot so maybe for the best! Maybe/hopefully next year???

While I think that Cliff has done an incredible job (he shows up at the damnest places) ultimately he is selling the unit just like all of these manufactures. Unless it is used or sitting there staring at you- ha, good luck. ![]() Andrew

Hi Hawkeye,Hawkeye If travel is your game then go with the Meg, it breaks down into much smaller components than the Evolution and is of far better build quality. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

SDS has a standing order (last time I chatted with cliff) for so many units per month that they must buy by contract, so AP is held to the same requirement.. Even if they have a waiting list elsewhere they would still have to fill their contract requirements to SDS...Hawkeye
