| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Sidemount on an Inspo Anyone put either an ArmadilloCCR sidemount or a Dive Rite Nomad sidemount on an Inspiration with a backplate? The bottom of the box is a few inches lower than the bottom of my backplate and I'm wondering if that makes attaching/detaching the cylinders more of a problem or if they attach low enough that its not a problem. Rob

| Re: Sidemount on an Inspo I added an Armadillo mount direct to my inspo, I have yet to convert to a BP (looking at travel frames first). I did mount mine a bit high so I understand your concern. For the most part things are fine, as long as the "Ü" mounts are completely clear you should be ok. I have found many uses for those U mounts even when I'm not slinging tanks. I put my extra lights, reels, SMB, camera stuff, its great for when I'm not in drysuit with my extra pockets. |

| Re: Sidemount on an Inspo I used some steel links to lower the armadillo. Without links ![]() The 'door handles' catch the back of the box ![]() So a couple of links lower the butt plate. ![]() Simon |

| Re: Sidemount on an Inspo Thats exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for posting the pics Simon. Any issues with using the links, such as it moving while trying to connect cylinders? Its pretty solid, no problem hooking up. I used 2.5 inch links, anything smaller won't work. I also put D rings on the harness positioned around the bottom of my ribcage and clip the neck of the cylinders to these for support out of the water.Rob Simon |

I have done 2 x 40 on one side and 1x 80 on the other, taken them all off, swapped them around, all without a mask, and a few other daft things that my instructor thought up. No problems. You don't really notice they are there whilst swimming around. Simon |
