| insp bottle maint - valve parts It is time for me to do some cylinder maint. Can you suggest a source of rebuild kits for the buddy valves on the 3ltr insp cylinders? I need to clean 5 (one has bent threads, so it is going in the recycle bin and will be a new valve). I would also welcome a pointer to a service tech manual. The valve itself has few markings; raised letters from casting time "BUDDY" on one side, and in dot matrix on the other: "RB13A 3H12 M25X2" (serial #?) Also in dot matrix same side, right next to the valve outlet: "5/8G" (mfg date? model?). John G. |

| Re: insp bottle maint - valve parts The best and most obvious source is Ambient Pressure diving themselves, as they make their own valves & can supply complete diagrams and service kits. If your valve has "buddy" printed on it, it is definitely their own make valves. For the first 3 or 4 years of so (i.e. from 1998 till 2002) they sourced their valves from MDE. This is valve you can see on the Rebreathers Worldwide link that Masa supplied below. After that APD started making their own. You can recognise them easily becasue theu have a green or black plastic cap on the very top. So I'd say: to to the source: APD (or, if US-based, SDS). Ciao, Tino. I've got an email in to APD. *shrug* being the impatient fellow that I am , I thought I'd ask here while I was waiting (Steve, you'll be my plan-B).All of you have been helpful; thanks for the pointers & advice. Just pick up the phone and talk to AP, it's far quicker and you'll have the parts you want in a few days.I've got an email in to APD. *shrug* being the impatient fellow that I am , I thought I'd ask here while I was waiting (Steve, you'll be my plan-B).All of you have been helpful; thanks for the pointers & advice.
